Wir sind regelmässig im Rössli zu Besuch.Am Nachmittag, wenn es noch etwas ruhiger ist, schätze ich es sehr, dass sich die Chefin die Zeit nimmt, um mit einem einpaar Worte zu wechseln. Mittags und abends steht sie dann in der Küche und ihr Mann übernimmt den Service, ebenfalls sehr sympatisch.Man findet auf der Karte unter anderem Köstlichkeiten von Produkten aus der Umgebung und sehr fein zubereitet.

The location and panoramic view from the restaurant - Churfirsten and surrounding foothills and countryside - is the perfect backdrop to a relaxed lunch. A very competitively priced three course menu of the day/business lunch (soup, salad and main) of tasty, well cooked and most reasonable portion sizes was on offer and ordered. Faultless service and the overall ambiance are just right for this quality country establishment. An extensive menu and choice of beverages is also available and our visit was a most enjoyable experience. There are a few steps up to the restaurant from the large car park but a wheelchair step-lift is right on hand if necessary. Ask for a table by the window. Lastly, the starting point for the excellent Barfussweg trails is also by the restaurant.

Prior to an afternoon walk in the picturesque Canton of Thurgau, I stopped for lunch in the small town of Sirnach.Engel is a charming traditional Gasthaus - directly across the church and a mere five-minute walk from the railway station.Service could not be better: a genuinely warm and friendly welcome from the landlady - Mrs Turisser - who was always attentive yet unobstrusive.At lunch time there is a limited menu only, with salad or soup followed by a choice of 3 daily specials. I took the meat option - a juicy beef entrecote served with fries. Simple and delicious! The only drawback: the small terrace faces the main road, which is fairly busy and therefore noisy.
