Get in there fast before everyone finds out about this new restaurant. The food is delicious and the presentation is first class. To my fellow Brits, I would describe it as a Gastropub - a combination of top class food at reasonable prices in a friendly setting. Sit outside and watch the world stroll by with a cool glass of what you fancy. I had to go several times to work my way through the menu. A gem.

We visited this restaurant on a Sunday evening. The weather was perfect and the veranda tables all occupied with guests enjoying the wonderfull views. We had a table inside and from the moment we sat down, we were spoilt with wonderfull service, great food and outstanding local wine. We started with fresh asparagus and we then had porkbelly with black truffels (best I ever had!), my friend a filet and his partner the tafelspitz. All eashed down with a local bottle of Malans Lauber cab. Could not have wished for better food, friendlier and more professional service. A great place to visit, well worth a journey. Tip - this is a popular restaurant, reserve well in advance a table outside on a nice day. Parking could be a problem but tgere is a large parking area 100 meters from rhe restaurant.

What a place, what a view, what a food, how many history! Inside you can have a perfect experience about the history at the place, and outside you can have a wonderful view of the city.

We discovered this restaurant on a late evening walk.Staff were super friendly. Very accommodating as we arrived at 8.30 with no reservation. The food here is top of the range. They were good size portions for the calibre of the dining. We had veal and calves liver, absolutely delicious. BUT a small bottle of water cost more than a half litre of beer 6.50CHF v 6.00CHF.88CHF altogether for one course and a drink for 2 people.Switzerland is expensive, that's a given, but the food was good.

This is a family-friendly restaurant serving Italian food with an emphasis on pizza. On two subsequent visits on a Saturday night and Sunday lunch (the only restaurant open) the place was packed with large families. On Saturday night we waited to place our order. Our waiter (was it Severino?)was the only male amongst the female staff and he took his sweet time coming to our table. We waited for our meals which were not delivered by our waiter. We had been handed off to one of the female staff. The food was tasty. We asked for the check and watched our waiter busy himself for twenty minutes clearing other tables and resetting them. No regard for the customers, just intent on recovering the tables. Finally, we realized he wasn't going to help us, so we asked a complete stranger (Christina) to bring us the bill.We repeated our mistake the following day (no other restaurants open) and went back for lunch. This time we were served by Fatima who promptly took our order. She delivered my Wiener Schnitzel but forgot my wife's pizza. Every ten minutes Fatima would stop by our table to blurt out "Pizza is coming!" Meanwhile, she continied to deliver pizza after pizza to the families surrounding us. Twenty minutes later, we demanded to know what was happening. She responded that "Pizza takes a long time!" Certainly, pizza does not take 45 minutes to cook? She offered my wife a free coffee while she waited. We declined and paid the bill and left and went across the street to the gas station and bought a sandwich. It was pathetic. The restaurant has several things going for it, but the staff is poorly trained and inattentive.Very, very unsatisfied. Avoid unless you enjoy waiting... and waiting.

We'd eaten here occasionally in past years. This year we found a refurbished and brighter restaurant. Friendly service, limited Easter menu (at least it was open, unlike many other spots in Bad Ragaz). Food was OK (as it usually is in Switzerland, but not distinctively better than many other restaurants.Dear guestThank you very much for your visit in the restaurant Im Park. We would also like to thank you for the time you have taken yourself, to tell us about your impressions. We do everything we can to improve our services constantly. Typically Swiss! Here, the atmosphere is traditional and cosy, and the menu is simple. Dishes of the day, regional specialities, fondues, open wines and draught beer. Get to know and savour our regional and Swiss specialities. Capuns (chard leaf parcels),
Local dishes such as cheese fondue , fondue bourguignonne and Zuercher Geschnetzeltes are all on offer in the Zollstube and the dishes we sampled there were invariably of good quality and well prepared. There are two separate rooms so if you are not eating the cheese fondue you can avoid your clothes smelling of cheese which is a good idea. Service is good and the whole atmosphere is very relaxed and there are plenty of good and reasonably priced local wines on the menu. We ate twice there and once again strongly recommend visiting this restaurant which is very much less formal than some of the other restaurants in the Grand Hotel Bad Ragaz during your stay.Dear Mr. Michael J,thank for rating all our restaurants after your stay at the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz. We are pleased to share your comments with the entire team of the restaurant Zollstube. We wish you all the best and looking forward to welcome you soon again.Warm regards, Grand Resort Bad Ragaz AGMarco R. ZanolariGeneral Manager Grand Hotels
Where to eat Mediterranean food in Bad Ragaz: The Best Restaurants and Bars

We visited Wirtshaus Löwen on recommendation of the Grand Hotel Bad Ragaz. We were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived we were warmly greated and felt 100% at home. Everybody spoke English and respected me trying out my poor German. The traditional atmosphere, wonderfully decorated Easter themed tables and well prepared dishes were much appreciated. The owners touch (Rosa-Elisabeth and Andreas) can be clearly seen. I had a Spanish pork chop and my wife a hamburger - both done to perfection. The Rioja Reserva wine I ordered was sold out, but a huge credit to the owner's integrity that brought us a similar Spanish wine at a price less than the one we ordered. This restaurant is a 'must visit' when in Bad Ragaz.

"IGNIV", Rhaeto-Romanic for "nest", is a place for the senses where sharing culinary art, indulgence and time take center stage - a refreshing and young concept with outstanding cuisine focusing on the product. But it is also about an attitude to life: ex
Basically the meal was not as expected and the restaurant appears to fail in not telling its guests that there are other options compared to the tasting / sharing menu with some 20+ dishes. You can elect to eat a la carte but nobody told us. Additionally it was only after we started the tasting menu that complete details of what we were going to be served was placed on the table. Nobody explained up front what the exact formula was and what other options existed which quite frankly is lacking in professionalism in my opinion. The food itself could not be really criticized other than the cauliflower was overcooked and the spare ribs were definitely not warm enough when we got around to eating them . Quite honestly there were few memorable dishes and the cuisine is a little pretentious , over fussy and there are too many ingredients in some dishes. All of this was explained to Francesco when he came over to talk to us at the end of the meal as he could see that we were not overly happy. Quite frankly we have sampled better tasting / sharing menus elsewhere and the overall standards were not up to one star Michelin Cuisine. My advice is before booking and visiting this restaurant make sure you fully understand what you will be experiencing so that you will not be disappointed because the meal is certainly on the expensive side. Service was good and efficient as you would expect from such a restaurant - there is an excellent wine list with plenty of pricy options - some mark ups appeared to be excessive.!! Unfortunately the evening did not pass by as we hoped although we had the opportunity of discussing our griefs in some considerable detail with the manager there Francesco. The restaurant itself is quite cosy but some of the decor particularly some decorative lights were not to our taste. My advice is go and eat in Andreas Caminada's restaurant in Schloss Schauenstein which is a 3 star Michelin restaurant. It may end up costing you more but it should be the real deal.!!Dear Mr. Michael Jthank you for your further rating on TripAdvisor. We are pleased to read your detailed and honest feedback. We really appreciate that. On the other hand, we regret that our sharing experience did not exceed your expectations. Normally, our concept met with great acceptance. We will forward your statements to Francesco and the entire team. Thank you very much for sharing your experiences.Warm regards, Grand Resort Bad Ragaz AGMarco R. ZanolariGeneral Manager Grand Hotels
