The owners were friendly and the breakfast was good. Beds and duvets were excellent, giving a very good sleep. Wifi worked well. However, on the negative side, the room was very small and there was no desk (to put your laptop on for working), neither was there no desk at the entrance hall. The room was also quite cold - an extra radiator would warm up the room in no time. Also the hot water was not very hot, but maybe it comes from a centralised municipal system, I am not sure. Nevertheless, it was way too cold to have a bath.

Great staff, great room and location. I would highly recommend for a stay in St. Gallen. Nice restaurant/bar area. Good breakfast. It is an easy walk to the sites of St. Gallen and other local restaurants.

The Grand Resort Bad Ragaz is a retreat for relaxation and recuperation. Nestled amidst the foothills of the Alps in Eastern Switzerland, it is just an hour’s drive from Zurich. It consists of two five-star establishments, the Grand Hotel Quellenhof & Spa Suites and the Grand Hotel Hof Ragaz, offering 233 luxurious rooms and suites. The resort is home to one of the best healthcare and nutrition centers in Europe and offers a unique health and spa experience. Seven restaurants, with a total of 5 Michelin stars and 76 GaultMillau points, as well as a sushi takeaway, a bistro and a café, provide exquisite culinary delights. In addition, the resort also boasts two golf courses, the Meetings & Events Center, the public Tamina Therme thermal spa and its own Casino to make every stay a truly unique experience.
My husband and I had the pleasure of staying in this fabulous hotel for five nights. We were strongly recommended to stay in this hotel whilst visiting friends who live in the beautiful area of Bad Ragaz. This was our first visit to Switzerland and we were really impressed by the courtesy and efficiency of the staff. In no way is this a ‘ stuffy or pretentious ‘ hotel; where else would you experience guests walking around at all hours throughout the hotel in dressing gowns? They were obviously making use of the wonderful spa and medical facilities contained within the grounds. There is too much to list here about the facilities contained within but they are terrific. We had the pleasure of eating at two restaurants; Verve by Sven and Zollstube and both were first class. The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff were very easy to converse with as they knew our friends very well - they are frequent diners in the hotel. Breakfast was a fantastic spread covering everything you could imagine and we were looked after in an excellent manner by Vladya each morning - she always met us with a smile and took time to talk to us when taking us to our table. One point I would like to make is that not one of the staff passed without acknowledging you and this was also true of the the majority of the guests. This is something that many five star hotels lack and can make guests feel uncomfortable. I can honestly say that that this is one of the very few times where I would happily have extended my stay it was that good. We look forward to returning, possibly in the autumn if time allows.

Unmistakeable Whether you stay for one night or for a whole week - you will love the personal character of Hotel Dom. Sober on the outside and colourful on the inside, situated in the middle of the 'Klosterviertel' district, tranquil, modern and independent.
I came to this city to re-visit the gorgeous Baroque cathedral that I saw on a college tour -50!years ago. The Hotel Dom served the purpose very well. It is a modern facility tastefully done. My room was on the top floor, which only had two rooms, reached by an additional flight of stairs from the elevator. Not elaborate accommodations , but perfectly satisfactory. Breakfast was OK but somewhat simpler than other places I’ve stayed. It is run by an organization that employs some of those with disabilities, a novel and laudable idea.

You can expect a minimum standard when you book a chain hotel. The front desk is professionally manned, the room is clean, the amenities in place, and the sleep and work areas thoughtfully designed. That's what you get here. There are two lights for each side of the bed, the work area has multiple power sockets. Breakfast was adequate with a short menu for hot food such as oats and omelette. It's a little off from the main action of the town (17 minute walk) but on the other hand it is quiet and there are several excellent restaurants within walking distance. I also found a laundry up the road. The hotel gives a free pass to ride the city bus. I discovered that on the last day and took a bus (any bus) to the train station. It had cost 12 CHF to get to the hotel from the train station.

A real feel good-holiday atmosphere! This comes from the modern design and the natural materials. The house is in the middle of Bad Ragaz, nestled in the picturesque mountain landscape made famous in "Heidi" and close to the Tamina Therme hot baths. Our 4-star hotel shines with its very personal service. It's the perfect place for a short break, an intensive holiday or a seminar: rest and recovery is never far away in Bad Ragaz.
We, Ukrainians, are thankful to the democratic world, all countries and all people supporting democracy - a symbol of freedom. In this difficult time of unacceptable aggression against these values, Ukraine and Ukrainian people stood to defend their freedom and justice as Ukraine is suffering from the authoritarian tyranny. The democatic world, Switzerland in particular, united to provide military, economic and humanitarian assistance to people of Ukraine and to forced refugees. We are very thankful to the administration and staff of Sorell Hotel Tamina Bad Ragaz for their hospitality, humanity and care in providing us with accommodation with breakfast and parking between the dates of March 19th, 2022 to May 30th, 2022. The room in the hotel was very bright, spacious and comfortable for the stay. We had everything we needed. The food was delicious, with a carefully selected menu full of nutritious dishes. The staff at Sorell Hotel Tamina was very professional friendly and supportive during this difficult time of separation from our motherland, which helped us adjust to the new environment. We felt very welcome in Sorell Hotel Tamina. Thank you very much from us and, if we may so, from all Ukrainian people. - Sergyy and Viktoria

I'm very disappointed with this hotel. We booked our stay for 26 Dec on 3 Oct already, and it was confirmed by e-mail. The pdf attachment contained the following details explicitly: the room type (Suite Pavillon) and that pets were allowed ("Haustiere/Hunde in den Pavillons erlaubt, CHF 15.00 pro Nacht"). Then we got a call from the hotel on 26 Dec in the morning. Our room got double booked for the first night of our stay, so they wanted to give us another room for the first day. Why did it turn out only on the first day of our stay? The booking was done almost 3 months ago. It also turned out that pets were not allowed, neither in the booked room nor in the offered replacement room. The best they could say was "sorry, we cannot do anything", even when we referred to the fact that it was explicitly written as allowed in their confirmation. The only thing they could offer was to cancel our booking "without any charges". Nice. So we're left with our luggage packed, but without any booking and trying to find something somewhere else on Christmas day...

Good hotel. Beds are really good and the hotel is well located in the city. Quality of in room products are good as well as there is enough tea and coffee in the room for a couple of days without room service. The breakfast is really good, it is a continental buffet with many choices. Staff is sympatic and friendly. Nothing bad to say about this hotel. Nice place, deserve its fair price. U recommend it.

I stayed in the new part of the hotel with a lakeside balcony. The room was tastefully decorated and the bathroom was gleaming and modern; both were a good size. The hotel's in a quiet location but the lake, motorway and St. Gallen are within easy reach. The restaurant served delicious local specialities. Staff were welcoming, attentive and professional. I'd definitely stay here again!

The New Star business hotel is the perfect venue for business trips or prestigious meetings. We offer you professional infrastructure with an extensive offering. The quick and easy transport links, the favourable location in the west of the city and the hotel's own car park provide optimal conditions.
We have now used this hotel 3 times as our daughter studies at the St Gallen university. The hotel is good value for money, rooms are well appointed, modern and perfectly clean. Staff is always very friendly. Breakfast is top and the restaurant opens up on a green garden, despite the fact that it is located in a commercial area. Very importantly for St Gallen is that car park is free so we prefer staying there and driving 10 minutes into town than staying in a more typical area but having to pay a lot for parking.
