Lucerne is an ancient town with strikingly modern sensibilities. One of Europe’s oldest covered bridges serves as its centerpiece, and fresco-adorned historic houses line the streets, but it’s also home to the cutting-edge KKL, a concert hall and art gallery. Take the cableways up the Pilatus, Stanserhorn or Rigi mountains for breathtaking views, or see Lake Lucerne on a steamship cruise.

We ate here over the weekend while on vacation. The weather was beautiful and we sat outside. The terrace was lovely, and the tables are close together, allowing us to interact with others sitting close by (although we also shared private conversation easily). The service was a bit slow, more relaxed, it took us a while to receive our first cocktails. The food was excellent and the portions were generous. One many dishes they offered choice of small serving or "regular". The small is ample if you're also have an appetizer. I had a tomato and buffalo mozzarella salad that was very good. The tomatoes were exceptional. My entree was "wolf fish", I got the "regular" portion and wish I got small. Overall a wonderful experience. I eat gluten free, and had not trouble finding many options available. We each had 2 drinks, 3 of us had starters (out of 4), each had entree. 130 Euros per couple.

The Restaurant "DREI KÃNIGE" is located in the little, peaceful district around the "Bruchstrasse" in the City of Lucerne. The Restaurant "DREI KÃNIGE" is located just 5 to 10 minutes walk from the old town and the main Station. Enjoy home-style dishes wi
This restaurant was recommended by the owner of âCrazy Cupcake Cafeâ that serves local cuisine with seasonal menu depends on the availability of the ingredients. It is located just beside the Drei Koenige Hotel which both are under different management. The service staff misunderstood that we wanted to go to the hotel initially and showed us the way to hotel lobby. We were guided and seated eventually after clarifications. We wanted to try the trout fish as recommended by TripAdvisor reviewers, however it was not available. It was a season for white asparagus, hence we ordered the soup, salad and fish item with asparagus since it is the season. White wine went well with the fish item. Nice ambience with good and attentive service. The food was pretty good, but price is rather steep. Overall, we had an enjoyable dinner here.
