Find out what International restaurants to try in Grindelwald. Grindelwald is postcard-perfect, a charming example of a Swiss ski resort. There are slopes for all experience levels, plus plenty of snowy activities for those who don’t ski, such as sledding, hiking or snowshoeing. Not feeling particularly active? Just cozy up by crackling fire and enjoy the merry atmosphere. After a long day, nothing’s better than lingering over a pot of Swiss fondue and a glass of crisp wine as you plan the next day’s adventures.

Haute cuisine in a stylish setting, characterised by top-level service and mindfully sourced products from our region.
Right on the slopes (Maennlichen/Grund). We ate lunch at the Alpstube as it was a good compromise for skiers and non-skiers, given that you can drive up from Grund. Setting and views are excellent, so was reception by the host. Waiters were very friendly. We were 14 pax. Most of us ordered burgers. It was ok, however the texture was a bit strange. We were later told the burgers are not freshly grilled/cooked to order but pre-cooked and warmed to order. All this for CHF 28.--. My wife ordered a plum cake, which was delicious I must say, but all she got was 1/3 of the size of a standard serving. We were told that they had ran out. Fair enough. What was strange is that we had to pay the full price of the dessert. Only after complaining extensively did they take off 1 CHF of the price. I think the icing on the cake was tap water. We ordered tap water and were billed CHF 10.-- for two caraffes. I can understand that tap water should be paid if you don't order other drinks, but this was not the case. Overall customer service by management could be improved as we were given the cold shoulder when complaining about these and other incidents. Probably won't return.

What a great restaurant/stop. The views are breathtaking - looking down the valley and right at the Eiger mountains. We hiked up from Grindelwald (about an hour) and had an amazing lunch and tasty coffee. You can also access this by a quick gondola ride. Highly recommend a stop here if youâre in Grindelwald!Thank you very much for your great review dear Jimmy! Hopefully see you again soon at Bort!

We were in the area as supporters for two runners in the ultra trail runs...The places along the Dorfstrasse tend to be Brasserie style. But the Belvedere provided all one could expect of a high class Restaurant without being in anyway more expensive. We booked and our name was remembered..a table on the balcony..clean tablecloths, rolls,water..attentive service...good to see student waiting staff. The trout was well presented, sophisticated in taste and generous. The same applied to the Sorbets...a marked contrast to one of the « Brasseries ».So a hidden gem. Has it to do with fact it is proudly run the third generation of a family and not by a chain?Dear Restaurant guests, there were many runners in our hotel and also many supporters. Already a week before, several runners were staying for their training. Many thanks for having visited our restaurant. We are very happy to read, that you enjoyed the service and the food. I imagine that you will be coming again next year. Thank you also for the wonderful review. With best regardsUrs-B. Hauser, owner
