We had lunch here while visiting the Christmas Markets. I had the pumpkin soup with a salad and the wife had the pasta with mushrooms. Both were delicious, fresh, and tasty. Located in the old town the service was friendly and helpful. The menu changes daily so everything is always fresh.

Let's keep it simply for this place. Really humble but packed with quality. Nice, friendly, and helpful team. Delicious food, crossing between modern and traditional. Twisted is the word. Great wine list with competent sommelier. Would definitely return if back in Bern.Dear KwinAunThank you for taking the time to share your wonderful feedback with me. We have visited this restaurant to celebrate different festivities. It has probably been our best choice since the chef takes particularly good care of each and single course on those special occasions. Members of the staff are very friendly and do their best to welcome you. They offer you good suggestions for drinks and wine pairings. During Summer time, rather sit on the patio and ask for their "Hugo" cocktail. Food is good but definitely not extraordinary. I have to agree with viewers who mention that it is probably one of the best restaurants in Bern (not that the list is very long though...). Dishes are well executed, but somehow you feel they could do better, particularly on their French classics. We can recommend it for families. Our child loves their Schnitzel with pommes frites.

We ate here a few weeks ago and had a wonderful meal. We sat outside and enjoyed the street entertainment (music) while eating. The owner helped us with the German menu which was really helpful to us. The fillet was cooked exactly right and so was the lamb. We had a chocolate dessert that was to die for. The wine list was extensive and we settled on a very nice Bordeaux. We highly recommend this restaurant!

The historical building used to be a railway Station more than 100 years ago. It is the cosy place for Business, celebration Partys or candle light dinner.
There are people who drive past the Restaurant Süder for years and hardly pay attention to the inconspicuous house at the Weissensteinstrasse 61 in Bern. I was one of those. Well, we were there due to reviews on Internet and For my Husband's 69th birthday. And I have to say: It was worth it. Rehrücken from Austria, a variety-rich cheese plate as dessert, a glass of red wine from the Vaud region and much more we have fully enjoyed. Also the bread. Even the walk to the bathroom was special. Where except in the Suder one finds in the men's WC a wicker basket with deer antlers? We were also served courteous with fully gastronomic professional-competent staff.? What should I criticize? At the moment nothing like that comes to my mind.Highly recommended to my family and FriendsDear Atil RThank you very much for your visit and also for writing a review. We do appreciate a lot and we are happy that you enjoyed the visit at restaurant Süder. We hope to welcoming you soon again, we have just started with a new dinner menu last week. Greetings Renate and team

Was pleasantly surprised by the value for money of this restaurant. Two of us ate here for under CHF 60 which is unusal for Switzerland! I had a vegetarian pizza which was very tasty and the base was thin and crispy and not soggy. Additionally, they were very accomodating with my dietary requirements. My husband had a pleasant surprise when he found 4 Indian set menus to choose from as well as the Italian options. So he went for the chicken curry menu which came with rice, raita, poppadum, pickle and some lentils, and he ordered a naan on the side too. We had two bottles of sparkling water as well. The Indian food was a little bland but that's not surprising when comparing to other Indian restaurants in the locality (the spice seems to be toned down for the local palate). The restaurant was clean and my husband went to wash his hands after eating and said the men's toilets were very clean too. The only slight criticism was that service was very slow as they had just one waiter for the first part of the evening (he was joined later by another) but more walk-ins than they would usually expect. It didn't bother us because we weren't in a hurry, but if you were, it may have been slightly annoying. However, we would definitely still go back there again. A nice little neighbourhood restaurant.

Wein&Sein invites diners to enjoy a meal in their vaulted cellar or on their summer terrace. The 24-seat restaurant is in the back, and the front houses the bar with its wine cabinets containing 300 bottles on display. The kitchen team will spoil you with
Itâs a small underground restaurant in the center of Berne. The food is excellent, they only have menus with set prices, starting with a 3 course menu for CHF 78 (no option below it), going up to 7 course menu (much higher price). The food is great, portions small and service very friendly. The ambience is cozy and quiet. I recommend if you have some extra cash to spend :)

A gem of a restaurant located in a wing of the former US embassy in a quiet corner of Bern. Run by a very welcoming husband-and-wife team who put their names on the restaurant's documentation (i.e. they're independent and not part of some ghastly chain.) Menu changes with availability of seasonal produce. Although the menu is short (a good sign) there's a pleasing choice of sophisticated fish, meat and vegetarian dishes allowing you to build a dinner of up to 6 courses. We were 4 and a bottle of champagne (Bollinger) apéritif followed by a three-course dinner with a bottle of excellent red wine from eastern Switzerland (think global, drink local) came to just under CHF 500. That's not bad by present-day Swiss standards. Genuine, unpretentious but excellent cuisine served by a young, enthusiastic and multilingual team. In summer you can dine in the garden. We've been twice and will definitely go back.

Integrated into the unique environment between water and forest, the gastronomic oasis in the Bernese Riviera has an uninterrupted views of the Bernese old town. Recreation meets urban lifestyle and modern architecture surrounded by diverse nature.
We were a medium sized group at Casa Schwellenmätteli and enjoyed the evening with a Tavolata. The food was very good, the portions very generous (a discretion). What I found very fine was the pasta dish (4 different variations), the wine accompaniment also fit very well, our service was very nice. The evening was great.
