Our family was looking for a place to have dinner in Zurich. We were about to sit down at an outdoor table for four at a nice restaurant on a busy Basel street but a woman cut in front of us and sat down, calling her husband to the table. No other table was available. So we opened up TripAdvisor and found that nearby 1777 had good reviews. We had some trouble finding 1777, not realizing it was set in a courtyard off the nearest street. As it turned out, the woman did us a favor because we loved the quieter but cheerful charm of 1777. Drinks, dinner and dessert were excellent and our waiter, Guy, was very friendly and attentive. We're glad we found this restaurant and will visit it again when we're in Basel.

We highly recommend Mel's, been there for burgers a couple of times - homemade buns, delicious choices of fillings, good ground beef - brunch on Sunday - lots of choices, very multi cultural from prosciutto to pancakes, their gelato options are awesome and the decor is proper 50's American diner.Perfect for a get together with friends or family for an affordable fun meal!Oh and the staff speak perfect English and are all super friendly ;)Dear GuestOur Team has read your comments with great pleasure and we are all delighted that you have enjoyed our restaurant. Let me tell you... This place is amazing! The location right next to the train station is so convenient and if you are looking for a place that serves healthy and delicious food look no further. I personally would recommend the poké bowls because it seems like that is their signature dish. The creat your own bowl concept is pretty cool and even if it seems daunting at first the staff is super friendly and is happy to assist. Sometimes you have to wait a little bit because it does get busy around 12 to 1 PM. However the short wait is totally worth it because the food, and smoothies for that matter, are really good!So if you are a person, who looks for a convenient, healthy and filling food option I would recommend to try this place!Thank you kindly for the review!
