The gourmet restaurant Bel Etage on the 1st floor of the Art Hotel Teufelhof has the intimate character of a salon. The daily changing offer includes à la carte dishes and different sizes of menu. Each course is offered with an accompanying wine by the gl

Enthusiastic Italian staff! Hard to turn around because they are so excited and already ordering your sandwich before you can say anything. Not English speaking but know a bit. Few sandwich options which are good but not crazy. Family own, made by mama. Fun staff!

Our Chef de Cuisine Peter Knogl awaits you in the Cheval Blanc with a symphony of aromas, colours and harmonious tastes. Ingeniously prepared from the best nature has to offer us. The team of the Cheval Blanc has earned a place among the 100 best restaura
As you would expect, this 3 Michelin star restaurant is excellent in all respects. The Chef de Cuisine Peter Knogl was in the kitchen and Le Menu of 5 courses (without cheese) at 220 CHF provided some exciting, innovative dishes as follows: Hamachi japonais, ponzu, radish and avocado; langoustine, madras curry and Granny Smith apple; St. Pierre and green beans; Bresse pigeon and Tasmanian pepper; and Champagne, raspberries, mint and kalmansi. The Pigeon was our favourite, but they were all delicious and the presentation superb. The wine suggested was an excellent bottle of local Swiss pinot noir (less than 10km from Basel). The service was very good, perhaps a little understated. Delightful, moderate-sized room in this historic hotel made for a lovely evening.Dear GuestMany thanks for your detailed description and your great feedback of your recent visit at the Cheval Blanc by Peter Knogl. We are delighted to read that with our cuisine, service and wine recommendation, we could create a perfect dinner evening. We hope that this special occasion will remain a long lasting memory for you and look forward to welcoming you back soon.Yours sincerelyTanja WegmannGeneral Manager

After completing a 3 week trip to Europe, I concluded my trip by flying to Basel to meet some great friends for dinner. They selected this restaurant because they knew I would appreciate the experience. And they were so right! Every aspect of this meal was spectacular from cocktail service & appetizers to the meal and dessert. This is now among my favorite restaurants in the world. On future visits to Basel I shall not miss the opportunity to dine here.Prices are very high - about $250 per person. But the experience was well worth the price. I didnât mind because they delivered one of my most favorite and memorable meals - ever!

From the moment we arrived this was absolutely the best dining experience in many years! Max and Francis cater to their guests with beautifully presented dishes, menus to meet all tastes and delight the palette, a patio setting designed to shelter guests dining outdoors and beautiful shawls as the evening cooled. Their attention to the smallest detail made this dinner with friends a very special night to remember.

Located in a small non-descript town, from outside the restaurant does not impress, but inside there is a nice modern design, elegant but still casual. Very good design.Nice garden seating area. The food is really excellent. I had as a starter the scallops- wow, not only it looked great but it was extremely tasty. As main dish I had the veal which was excellent as well, the dessert strawberry with ice cream was very good as well, but the best dessert was the sorrel sorbet which was absolutely top! Overall the food is really excellent and is at least at one star Michelin level.Ver good wine list, of course with lots of German wines from the region.Service was casual but friendly. What would have made the experience even better: no one asked at the end of the lunch if we were happy - a gesture that could make a difference.Price level for food is good for the quality you get. Only the wines are a bit overpriced for Germany. Concussion: great experience, I can highly recommend this restaurant for food lovers who love a casual but nice environment.

Food is good - large portions of hearty family-style food. Well cooked and very traditionally Swiss. The owner is very charming and the wait staff mostly so. They have Very cosy traditional surroundings and are family friendly with a kids menu and even have a change mat for babies upstairs. The restaurant is popular so bookings are recommended. It is also possible to visit just for a drink, and if they are very busy, there is a central table that seems reserved for those just drinking. Many staff speak English and those who don't get by well anyway. There is an outside terrasse in summer which is lovely. We visit Rebstock regularly.

We went to this trendy restaurant..because we follow the comments...even if the restaurant is not in the center. It offers all for a talented..and this cook definitely is, to be THE place for all the rather also trendy ,young with a bit of money people. - You cross the street and enter passing all the costy bikes and the beautiful garden..and enter in a dark restaurant where you are seated hopefully next to another group of successful people enjoying loudly. We were lucky to be so far away but this had the opposite effect that they forget you. Waitresses are nice..very informal..they talk to the people they seem to know...but they are SLOW..inefficient and to WAIT (it is an expensive place) for bread..20 minutes..for the dish (excellent fish BUT NOTHING WITH IT)..another 20 minutes..and another 20 for the smallest dessert we have ever eaten! My partner got a stiff neck from turning to the waiter to get the bill. But we could see that the locals...liked it..and they seem to have all eaten before because we left hungry but the bill was as quite expensive for what you get.To summ up:This owner responds to a specific client who would not go a normal restaurant...The plates are hand made...the fish comes from a happy fish and so does the meat come from a happy animal. the wine comes from hand picked owners..and you feel so good!but if you search for a place after a hard day and want to EAT and feel welcome..you might be disappointed.

There are many good restaurants in the Basel area, but this was the best one I visited during my week-long stay. The Wirtshaus zum Schlüssel is a lovely place to dine in Muttenz, on the outskirts of Basel. The food was amazing and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was comfortable and inviting. Every dish was prepared just right with the utmost care from high quality ingredients. The prices are very reasonable. We had the fake/false snails (falschi Schnägge ... actually beef cubes baked with herb butter) on recommendation of the house and we were NOT disappointed! The Wienerschnitzel also looked delicious. My colleague said he was going to go home and dream about the food, it was so good. If you're staying at Hotel Baslertor, it's a ~10 minute stroll down a nice street in Muttenz. Give the Schlüssel a try. You won't regret it!

The Restaurant and Bar WERK 8 is located in an ancient industrial machine factory in the district called "Gundeldingen" in the very south of Basel. It is spacious enough to seat 140 people and our high-class cocktail bar serves another 80 people. There is
I had the chance to visit Werk 8 just last night for the first time as part of a corporate cocktail party. I have to say, we were very well taken care of. Endless bottles of wine, champagne, and beer flowed through the evening and a wide range of appetizers were served ranging from meatballs and fish and chips to shrimp and club sandwiches. The avocado dip with especially good, as was the mozzarella and tomato skewers. Very very attentive staff, fun people, and really interesting and enjoyable
