There is a good choice of restaurants in Santillana del mar...a very attractive town...with plenty of photo opportunities. It was drizzling with rain for our visit, but having visited the Cathedral we chose La Terraza de la Fuente as there was a good choice on the set menu and there were menus for children. Some of the seating and tables were wet despite the overhead covering on the terrace, but these were dried. Service was excellent. My wife chose the white asparagus dish followed by cod and tomato. I chose the paella, followed by pork loin chops and chips. All the meals were of very good quality and service was rapid and friendly.

First night in Cantabria and was a bit hungry, did want to eat Spanish style food but just went for the fillet steak. It was excellent and a good portion for a fillet. The rabas (squid) we had for a starter were good when we seasoned them with salt. I certainly would recommend Lucio's for the steak.

Admittedly we had a pretty rushed meal here as the 4 year old was tired, as was the pregnant wife but having waited 25 mins for even a drink request I was getting a bit frustrated. 1 waiter only. 3 other English tables in there but only Spanish menus (no issue for us but hence it took him 10 minutes just to take one order after all the explaining of what was what). We had entrecôte (good), garlic chicken (too dry) and eacalope (gristly). View nice enough but nothing special. Also charged us for bread x 3 but served us none and for half a bottle of wine instead of a glass - both rectified once pointed out as we were in a bit of a rush and he was struggling with the demands of the less than half full room Thanks ginglish for the coment,i hope see you soon

Located opposite the famous Colegiata in one of Spain's most picturesque towns, Santillana del Mar in Cantabria. Fantastic meats cooked on open wood fired grill, very well-known locally for its delicious ribs. Extremely popular with tourists also, menus i
This charming town is full of very good restaurants. Some a bit touristy but generally of high quality. For something rather different I recommend you try out Casa Cossio and sit close to the large pit fire grill watching your ribs be cooked to perfection. The menu offers good food at average prices.

Reading the opinions of trip advisor we had two menú of the day which offered a good selection of choices and were execellent.Well cooked, presentation and good service.Surprise at the end of the meal was the bill as 2 menus were only 9.95 euros each. We had arrived early for lunch by Spanish standards and it proved to be the best idea as by two o´clock the place was jammed pack with people waitng for tables. Very recomendable.
