Great place for a fantastic meal. Family owned and run. The owner offered us a ride to our hotel (it was raining) to save us money on a cab. Try the Lechazo (house special).

We ordered the set menu "menu azul" for lunch for two and our 5 year old daughter ate from our portions. The food was inventive, abundant and of a high quality. The appetisers included some Ox tail croquettes that were exquiste. The first course was fun, very well presented and a good balance of flavours (prawns, avocado, with a vinagrette dressing). The second was OK. One of the main course options; steak with a wild Mushroom sauce was good. The other main course option; sea bream, with black pudding didn't work so well for us. The dessert was very good, and we appreciated the attention the cook paid to our daughter. Coffee excellent. and a gin tonic invention. The decoratrion of the restaurant is interesting , the service is polite but perhaps a little too serious, the appearances of the cook in the room livened up the atmosphere. We will return.

When recently on holiday we wanted a restaurant to have a traditional long Spanish style Sunday lunch out in the country. This special restaurant ticked all the boxes and whilst surrounded by fields and having the impression of seclusion it was only a ten minute drive fron Santillana del Mar. Our reception was warm and friendly and we had a wine aperitif on a large patio overlooking countryside. We ate from the 'a la carte' menu which was reasonably priced. All of our food was excellent, both in presentation and flavours. The wine list too was modestly priced with a good choice of both Spanish and international wines. Our service throughout was excellent and attentive and well paced. English was spoken by at least two waiters so all our questions were easily dealt with despite our poor Spanish. We would certainly return again if in the area. There was a large car park with an easy short level walk to the restaurant. I understand that this restaurant is a favourite venue for weddings so a check before booking is advisable.

Amazing place with amazing food. Great place to be with family and friends. The prices are normal for the quality of the restaurant.

We went here for a special dinner on a Friday evening, and were surprised to be the only booking (crisis?). Having been here a long time ago, we remembered having had wonderful, if expensive, food, and this repeat visit didn't let our memories down, the food was delicious, perfectly cooked meat, and lovely presentation. Nice touches such as an appetizer whilst we waited for the starter, and impecable service, they checked up on us just the right amount. We had a very enjoyable, delicious meal. Fairly pricey though, so will be saving it for a special occassion again in the future!

On our first night in Spain we were recommended this restaurant by out hotel and we were not disappointed. Generous portions of local, well cooked food, along with a pleasant Rioja for under â¬10 made it a memorable visit. The staff were very cheerful and pretty tolerant of our lack of Spanish.

This place provides amongst the best menu del dia I have come across. The quality and quantity is great. The service is a bit slow because the place is packed and waiters are few. But once you get the attention of the waiters they are very profesional and attentive. If you don't speak Spanish though don't wait for much sympathy....just choose randomly.....this is a local restaurant not geared up to serve tourists simply because there aren't any. The desserts were the highlight of the lunch... the cheese cake (tarta de queso) is divine..

They have two set menues with lots of dishes. Depending on the colours of the dishes you can pay 15 or 20 euros. The service is efficient and the food is really good and ecclectic.

This restaurant is really special. The service, the food, the atmosphere- everything! You get to cook your own steak on a hot stone but if you're not a meat person there are lots of great fish options too! The deserts are also amazing- everything is home made and just so tasty! If you get the chance to go here, don't miss out!!
