This dish, which is popular in many seaside towns, is called Arroz Caldoso con Bogavante. This is not a dry rice, like many paellas, but in a wet (caldo means broth) rice - wet meaning in an extremely rich brown broth made from shellfish. This restaurante also serves great paellas, too - as demonstrated by the way the folks at the nearby tables were finishing off their dishes. I am not generally a huge seafood fan but this was one great, extremely tasty dish which contained a lobster, mussels, clams, and I suppose some fish of some sort. The rice was fantastic. I believe the arroz caldoso was priced at 32 euros (the dish for two). Very filling. If you like lobsters, I saw the waiter bring out two of the biggest lobsters have ever seen to a table on the other side of the room. I think they have a pool where they are kept fresh until they are prepared. Absolutely fresh. These were massive. The restaurant is located next to the beach, although across a parking lot - which is where we parked for the restaurant - for a small price. We ate indoors with the air conditioning although there was a terrace. Food was great, service was fineWe just had a nice albarino wine. Pretty crowded but the place is large with lots of windows. You should reserve, at least in high season.

A restaurant I want to go back to because if I remember it several months hence it must have been good. It was 90 Euros for a huge seatplatter for two with a starter and an afters and a bottle of wine, coffee and even a chupito. The seafood was of the finest quality. The interior décor was also of interest. It looked like a large conservatory but with ambient lighting.

Recommended by friends as well as folks in Noja. It is located outside of town along one of the town's two beaches. Follow the street that runs down from the church. Keep going straight. Probably about 2kms out of town. The restaurant itself is a non-descript cement block building painted a loud blue color, with a terrace. It may not be much to look at but don't let that fool you.We ordered the Parriada de Pescado (for 2) which consisted of 5-6 different kinds of fish grilled over coals. Light salt. It is not vertical cuisine! There is no lemon grass! Just the beautiful flavor of fresh grilled fish. I am not normally a fish person but this was great.I suspect the place gets busy especially in high season so reservations might be recommended, if they take them.

We eat here everytime we go to Ajo. Itâs traditional homey Spanish cooking of fresh seafood and beef. The owner is present and very friendly she helps out on the restaurant floor. We always have paella, minimum of 2 portions but it actually feels good for 3-4 people we end up never finishing it and just do take away. We also order fresh rabas (calamari), deep fried and just add lemon itâs perfect - one serving is big too. Price is reasonable for what you get.

Called in for the special paella with lobster. What a disappointment. The lobster was fine but served in a paella dish half filled with liquid with some overcooked rice settled on the bottom of the pan. The wine was not much to shout about. I usually like albarino but for this example some half-wit had decided to blend it with chardonnay, totally destroying the usual individuality of this great Spanish grape. So nice view but I won't be back.

First the location is superb, over a relaxed two hour lunch we watched the tide come in and learned the Spanish words 'Ria' [river mouth] and 'Marea' high tide]. It is stunning location, where they use fresh sea water to charge their live lobster and shellfish tanks. The food was superb, we had the BBQ mixed shellfish platter 2x2 for four people and could only just eat it all. Home made desserts, and local wines were fabulous.Highly recommended for a Taste of Cantabria.Recommend BOOKING and to arrive ON-TIME!

Celebrated my birthday at the restaurant, which was convenient to our beach apartment. We arrived early for dinner but were greeted and welcomed none the less. Good selection of local foods and service to match. Child friendly although 8,30 opening always takes getting used to with a young British family.
