Traditional and grilled food restaurant. Fresh ingredients. Accommodate groups. Canarian and Spanish local home cooking. Two terraces. Near the popular San Mateo produce Market. Restaurante tradicional y de comida a la brasa. Ingredientes frescos. Capacid
This local restaurant is in the smaller community Vega de San Mateo. You could come here because of the Mercadillo de San mateo (one of the largest vegetablemarkets at Gran Canaria). This market and the drive there is worth doing it.Besides that you get surprised by city Vega de San Mateo and you can eat and drinkat Cafetaria Restaurante El Mercado. The last one is just opposite the Mercadillo.I tis good visited by lots of locals and the menu card shows only spanish dishes. You'll all be surprised by the prices !!

Hamburgueseria gourmet donde puedes componer tu hamburguesa con todo lo que quieras, tiene cerveza artesanal y platos especial de carne y pescado
What an amazing find! A little bit off the beaten track but well worth the effort. Fantastic attention to detail, quality ingredients and knowledgeable staff. The burgers are great (recommend El ahumado) and the presentation gives it a special touch. The craft beers are all from Gran Canaria, are excellent and carefully paired with the burgers. A nice variety of sides available too, we tried the aubergine croquettes and the arancini, both great. Highly recommend a visit.
Friends I arrived Sunday without a reservation. We were happy to sit outside and knew we may have a wait. 10 adults and 8 children. We were easy going as we had not reserved and there were plenty of tables free although not dressed to eat. After being told it was okay we sat and had a drink in the beautiful sunshine. The Manager looked very unhappy. When we asked for menus we were told we could not eat as they would not serve us, 5 metres from the other tables! We asked for tapas or anything easy as we knew we had not booked and we were sadly told it was not possible. So we left and went to Bodegon Vandama who happily seated us and fed us and got the â¬500. Sad a business will not try to accommodate !
Traditional bakery with all home made products. Sandwiches caked coffee, fresh orange juice all you need for breakfast or a small. Break on route to the center of the island.
Amplia variedad de dulces artesanales y muy buen servicio. Todo está exquisito y a muy buen precio. Excelente lugar para merendar o comprar unos dulces para llevar.

Historical restaurant established in 1948. It opened its doors in the 40's and it quickly became the most popular restaurant in the centre of the island. An obligatory stop for breakfast, lunch, snacks or dinner.
An excellent place to go for a coffee or lunch or evening meal. The menu is wide and varied without being complicated. It is not a gourmet restaurant but one that offers good regular food at very reasonable prices. The staff are wonderfully helpful and friendly. The red and white local wines on offer we found to be very enjoyable.

Lovely food, fantastic service. It might not look like much when you drive past it, but this place looks really nice on the inside. Great atmosphere. I had the tuna, which was nice, but would have loved a sauce with it. Can recommend the Uruguay powder cup dessert. Delicious. Can't fault the service, everyone was very friendly. Menus in English was a big plus for us. Will definitively come back.

When the rest of the family decide to walk around the caldera, visiting this restaurant for a meal delivers another great Canarian experience. The welcome is warm and friendly and the young ladies running the place speak a good degree of English. The menu is also available in English.I opted for the Canarian stew which was very good. Majoring in chick peas, cubed potato, lots of cubed chicken breast, veal and sausage, the sauce combined to bring it all together.Well worth a visit if you are viewing the caldera - or even if you are not!

Nice and cosy restaurant in the center of Teror, combining the typical Canary island style with the homely warmth of the Scandinavian countries. Vegetarian, vegan and ecological options.
Follow the sign boards away from the main square and down the steep, narrow street. We booked for dinner, earlier than most locals, but the place filled later in the evening. Very friendly and attentive staff, food prepared fresh and all tasted good. Good selection of beer and wine at reasonable prices.Went back a couple of days later for coffee in the courtyard. Very pleasant haven from the busy Sunday market.
