One of Tenerife's top resorts, Puerto de la Cruz is on the north coast of the island. Both Spanish and island traditions are evident in the former fishing village. Its Sardine Festival and annual Carnaval are two highlights of life on the island. Busy, narrow streets of the Old Town, packed with colonial architecture, make walking a safer bet than driving. Popular attractions include Lago Martianez, the casino, Parrot Pool, the Banana Plantation and the Botanical Gardens, which date back to 1788.

It was Easter Sunday and we were due to go back to the airport later that day, we chanced upon this place and decided to try the menu of the day. The waiter was so helpful, the wine (I' m not a wine person) was rather nice and the meal was absolutely delicious. I didn't want to eat for the rest of the day in case I spoilt the lovely memory of it all. The only disappointment was that we hadn't discovered this place earlier as we had been b&b and we would never had gone back to all the other places we had been to. You really must find this place.

A place to share
Stopped for lunch a la Cocina having found it on tripadvisor. Very friendly staff who helped us choose 5 great tapas dishes washed down with a very nice house red. Each tapas dish was thoughtfully presented and all were great especially the mushrooms and the peppers hoping to go for another visit before returning home.

Must have walked past this restaurant hundreds of times and didn't give it a second thought. My wife and I both enjoy pasta though and checked out TripAdvisor which highlighted Baricentro.Sometimes you read comments like ' this was some of the best pasta I've ever eaten' and you think, some correspondents 'need to get out more', however, on this occasion they could very well be right!Spotlessly clean, well appointed with interesting Italian artefacts and friendly staff,, so far we were impressed. Two glasses of the very good house rosado helped set the scene whilst we perused and ordered from the well chosen selection of dishes on the menu.Sharing a starter of bruschetta, it was at this point we agreed we had made a good restaurant choice. The bread was lightly toasted and the garlicky tomato topping was seasoned perfectly and drizzled with a nice 'peppery' olive oil - absolutely delicious. Next we both had spaghetti dishes, my wife the pesto and the 'scampi' for me. Both dishes were cooked to absolute perfection, with al dente spaghetti and for my dish, well cooked and succulent prawns in a garlic and chillie oil - historic. To complement the food we selected a bottle of verdicchio, which I must say was reasonably priced and of good quality.Although both of us were 'stuffed full' at this point, we reasoned that since the first two courses were superb, for completeness, we simply had to try the tiramisu.Quite honestly, this was 'up there' with best tiramisu either of us had ever eaten - and being from Scotland we both enjoy our puddings. So there you have it, Baricentro, what a find. So good we went back another twice during our two weeks in Puerto. Thanks for some great meals.

Mediterranean tapas with local and fresh products
Yet another faultless dinner at this very well run restaurant.A new complimentary appetiser of cherne & beetroot created by Chef Claudioâs mother was a perfect start to our meal.Fillet of pompano with a light lemon grass sauce was perfectly cooked and served with purée of sweet potato ... Claudio & Melissa are experts in timing of all fish dishes.Duck magret sauced with spicy orange and served with purée of carrots was perfectly pink and totally delicious.Long time waitress Jacqueline has gone to Holland for family reasons but her replacement Dominique , a tall and amiable Frenchman , has stepped into her shoes admirably.Tasca Ihuey is one of our two favourite restaurants in Puerto and it is best to book in advance.Very highly recommended.

Great atmosphere, COSY TERRACE, CENTRAL AND QUIET ATTENTION Personalised by its owners, SPECIALIST IN KITCHEN ARGENTINA, delicious pasta, and Canarian dishes TAPAS.IDEAL AMENO to spend a moment with your partner or with family and friends. Home cooking
Owners Diego ( chef) and Melanie ( out front) are perfect hosts who are determined to ensure that all their clients enjoy a relaxing meal in their restaurant situated in a quiet lane in Puerto.Diego only uses top quality beef from his native Argentina and also from Uruguay.Steaks are absolutely super and cooked exactly as requested and the good sized Tenderloin was full of flavour and excellent value at â¬15.Desserts are more interesting than those usually found in Tenerife and a well textured chocolate mousse with a splash of brandy is strongly recommended. On the night of our visit almost everyone booked a return visit which was no surprise since the food is good and the service is so pleasant and caring.Well done again Diego and Melanie....you are lovely people who deserve to be very successful.Needless to say we will be returning next Thursday.

Pequeño restaurante familiar de comida internacional con opciones vegetarianas. Comida como la de antes con un toque moderno
Very pleasant place with extremely friendly and professional staff. Itâs small and cozy- nicely decorated. Kitchen is transparent (closed with a glass) so you can see inside but it doesnât smell. I had the salmon and it was very very delicious. Also great selection of wines. The price of main dishes vary between 14 and 20 Euro and is very much worth it vs the quality of food and the way it is prepared. Overall very good experience :) Thank you very much for your visit and for your comment. We hope to see you again in Edelweiss.A greeting and thanks again.

Been a few times now and it's very consistent, always a 10 out of 10 from me !Geoff & Rachael Dear Geoff,Thank you so much for this recent review as we always appreciate your opinion. we made a trip from our place in the south to the north to eat here due the the high reviews and were really disappointed...We had the 'tasting menu' which was ok but nothing really rememberable, oh apart from my wife having not one but TWO huge, we're talking 30mm long & thick, fish bones in a piece of fish no bigger than 50mm square...waiter reponse was "oh really" yes, that's all he said.....Best part of the meal, the red wine and that sums it up, would I return, your joking.I suggest if you want a really decent meal, go south and try the michelin star restaurants....

Small, elegant and romantic restaurant with 21 years of experience. We are in San Felipe Street no. 53 about 300 meters from the famous Plaza del Charco. We are renowned for the quality and freshness of our products. We recommend to book a table. Tuesday

Mama Nena: food to share by Hermanos Suárez.
Haydee has moved up the road, Mama Nena has been created by the Suarez. To call it "son of Haydee" is doing it a disservice. It stands on it's own.Four of us shared the dishes:Crispy Crab Bao with Yuzu Mayo. 2 between four of us. Managed to keep us all quiet (with maybe one exception!). Delicious.Salad of Crispy Prawns and red fruit vinaigrette. My oh my! Lovely.Tuna Tartar with gooseberry ponzu. Magnificent blend of a variety of different tastes which possibly shouldn't work but does.Meatballs over Udon noodles with teriyaki sauce. OMG - the taste of the noodles! Meatballs good too!!Pork Rib cooked at low temperature with strawberry hoisin - the previous dishes were excellent - so was this! Again, another wonderful blend of unexpected tastes. Which worked very well! And then came the Postres! Well this was seething else! Chocolate Foam, cream of galletta maria with date ice cream. The taste literally did explode in your mouth!Electric Lemon Pie - the best lemon pie I have ever tasted!Banana ceviche with tiger milk ice cream and rocoto. Can't really comment as I was unable to prise a taste! Suffice it to say there were many satisfied grunts being made!Crunchy vanilla strudel with kaffir lime ice cream and curry. This dish probably defines the whole meal, a blend of different tastes which probably shouldn't be mixed together but they work spectacularly well.2 bottles of Balancies White and two bottles of water. Much Pan and Mantiquilla. â¬146.A wonderful meal and thoroughly recommended.Thank you so much for such a kind review! We are truly honoured to receive this great words within our first month! We hope to have you back very soon so you can continue to experience our innovative cuisine. Best,
