Very Comfortable, reasonably priced hotel -friendly staff
Reviewed By nutmeggersThe Palace Hotel was a great choice for us as a large group of us were travelling for Business. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and we enjoyed three meals a day in the restaurant. The hotel at one time was a private home for local dignitary,with grand staircase, and relics from when the Palace was in it's Hey day. The staff does not speak English, but we were able to communicate efficiently with our needs. The restaurant serves ala carte style,- be prepared to take from the buffet offerings which are generously fresh, and traditonal brazilian fare, but you will pay by the weight not by your selection. The rooms are modest, clean,beds very comfortable, but no frills, mini fridge with brazilian samplings of chocolate, drink, and sundries. I really liked the night table console which you could control radio, lights, and air conditioning all from your bedside.. Wi-Fi was sporadic, at the time we stayed there, and they did not have a hotel computer for us to utilize.Therefore best to have a smartphone, as well as bring your own computer/Ipad. Overall, we enjoyed this hotel, it was centrally located, We are going to be staying again in August and looking forward to knowing that it will be fresh offerings in the restaurant , and comfortable.

Reviewed By Ricardo AGood afternoon! I understand that, during the pandemic, services are in deficit, but a global hotel chain MUST maintain a minimum of quality. I stayed - on business - at the Comfort de Campos dos Goytacazes, and meals were served in the room. At lunch, the filet mignon was dry, the fries burnt and the vegetables withered; the 'parmegiana' was just a mockery of what I'm used to. In addition, the restaurant had no oil! Amazing ... I have been to 44 countries and, for the very first time, I found a restaurant without olive oil. Considering almost R$ 50.00 (with mineral water), I found the service to be of very low quality. Thank you.
