This restaurant is struggling to get another chance from the failed previous Mexican restaurant which was called Taqueria El Buen Gusto at 4835 Carpinteria Ave. We had a very good experience with their fresh food and salsa bar. My husband had Huevos Rancheros - he said it was a unique of preparing them and the whole plate of food was very good. I had the Carnitos burrito that was very tasty and fresh. They make their own flour tortillas - yummmmm. I think you will like the positive change in the menu and be happy with the cuisine. The new owners took over in May 2011. Enjoy!
In grill in the back of this little Mexican market is a real local favorite. Get a burrito with fresh fixin's, pick up a drink and head down to Carpenteria Beach for a picnic. Best lunch ever!
This hole in the wall resterant has pretty good food. Their chili rellenos are excellent! They have a salsa bar that you can help yourself too. They are very fast and inexpensive.
We had seen advertisements for their burritos and tacos but never tried them since it was in a "liquor store" - wow, we have been missing the "boat" in this beach town in the last 10 years! My husband said his Breakfast Burrito" was the best he has ever had and he is a Mexican food "foodie"! I had the Carnitas Nachos - great Carnitas, yummm! The salsa and Pico de Gallo along with the chips were so fresh and delicious. They open at 8:00 AM for breakfast - what a way to start the day! Try 'em, you'll love the food!

Find your nearby Taco Bell at 1045 Casitas Pass Road in Carpinteria. We're serving all your favorite menu items, from classic burritos and tacos, to new favorites like the $5 Double Stacked Tacos Box, Crunchwrap Supreme, Fiesta Taco Salad, and Chalupa Sup
This is a clean, quick service Taco Bell which prepares special orders to your specifications. The XXL steak burrito is wonderfully tasty, but is also about 800 calories, so beware. I've been to this Taco Bell many times and have never had to wait in line.

We found this little place quite by accident recently while spending a day walking around the beach town of Carpenteria. Located in a shopping center, and not visible from the main street, it may be hard to find but the food is very tasty. They have a large menu with approximately 25 combination plates and an array of alla carte items as well. I had a shredded chicken tostada. The meat was seasoned perfectly, atop crisp lettuce, beans, a hint of sour creme and guacamole ($5.50) My wife had 2 shredded chicken soft tacos that were packed with seasoned chicken. The best she's ever had! (around $3 each). This isn't a place you'd take a date after the prom...but if you want a quick delicious authentic Mexican dish in an unpretentious (order at the counter) atmosphere, try El Taco Grande!

My wife and I have eaten at Oaxaca Fresh two or three times before and were looking forward to a return visit, but we were disappointed this time. She had a carne asada burrito, and I had a chili verde burrito. Both were mediocre -- just meat, beans, and rice, none of which was very flavorful. I could find no hint of tomatillo sauce in mine, and there was no detectable sauce of any kind in my wife'sr Service was slow and lukewarm. To their credit, the chips and salsa are good, and they serve large glasses of water.

Carpinteria (locally, Carp) has a number of Latino groceries with a kitchen in the back, serving traditional and heritage (usually Mexican regional) foods. Reyes Market is a fine example of this local phenomenon with consistently delicious, well-balanced and spiced meats for tacos, burritos and the like, often with special preparations like posole on the weekend, served at a few small tables inside and out front. Usual accompaniments include rice, beans and an good assortment of house-made salsas. Perfect for take-out.

Stopped on way to Ojai and was very pleased. Parking was easy and the decor was relaxing. Our server was prompt and courteous. The margarita was refreshing. The tri tip burrito was outstanding. My two companions were also very pleased with their food. Would certainly try again when in area.
