Contemporary Thai mainstay dishes up a range of traditional entrees in a stylish, open dining room. Comfort food · Quick bite · Healthy options
Nice clean Thai restaraunt in shopping plaza. They have a large menu. The combinations on the back looked good and reasonable but their pre-cooked already so you can't substitute chicken for pork or vice versa. The appetizers seemed a bit pricey so I didn't bother ordering any. The entrees seemed priced about right for the area. I'm not sure if I've ever been to a Thai restaraunt where the entree did not come with rice. You must order that separate. I had the yellow curry chicken with Jasmine rice. The curry sauce was a bit thin and watery not that thick curry consistency I'm used too. It was not very spicy. I should have requested extra spicy or Thai spicy. A bit of chili sauce took care of that. All that aside it was still pretty tasty. Overall an average dining experience.

You might think I'm just saying that. Well, I actually lived in Laos and Northern Thailand before it was cool to do it. And I know authentic taste. It has literally been yes since I had food this good in the states from Thailand. Their style ranges from Bangkok style, a little smoother and palate for giving to their slightly more fiery cousins to the north. I asked for authentic when I went in. I wanted the Thai experience. I got it. The Chef is well versed on the food from the Issan area of Thailand. Even the language is a mix of Thai/Lao there. And the foods are amazing. No more tires American style Thai food for me.I started with the green papaya salad Laotian style. The layer of flavors was impressive. Lime juice, roasted rice powder, Kefir lime leaves, and more with fat shrimp on it. I liked the papaya was cut home style and not perfect like at big restaurants. And on the side served up with Laotian sticky rice. Then came the Appetizer. It was a perfect pork loin thin sliced on a bed of baby romaine, and an Issan (jaio) dipping sauce. Then the entre arrived. My Fav Thai dish. Prik King. An amazing sauce with layers of flavors served with tender pork, and sautéed red and green bell peppers and green beans. Sweet, no salty, no, unique, oh hell. It was amazing. The ladies that work there are extra sweet and trying to get the work out about their grand opening. Go and see the magic.

Perhaps my expectations were too high given my vast experience with Thai restaurants in major cities with a large Thai population, but this meal was disappointing. The menu is broad with lots of options, but despite it being rather slow, the food did not taste fresh. The owner was nice but not particularly attentive and rarely checked on us; a couple of times I went inside to ask for something as we sat outside. The exterior looks inviting but the interior was not. Perhaps another Thai place in the area steps it up a notch.

Small restaurant with a few tables and street parking. Nothing fancy and so-so decor. Service is fast and efficient. My husband had the Pad Ruam Talay which is prawns, calamari and scallops in a spicy sauce. I had the Pra Ram Long Song which is spinach, broccoli and beef in peanur sauce. Both dishes were great! Portions were a nice size. $9.95 for my dish and $11.50 for my husband's. Rice is extra - $1.50.

Because it was close to my hotel, I tried this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. On my first visit I ordered Chicken Yellow Curry, and Pad Thai with Shrimp, both were excellent, and reasonably priced. I had to go back the next day and have the Pad Thai again, excellent, very tasty, an unusual sauce, sweet and yummy.

We had to wait long for everything, to get water for all, to get a server to come and take our order, to get our food , to get our check and finally, for someone to come and take our payment. It was unbelievably slow and the restaurant was not even very busy! We had three different people attend to us and they were all equally bad, with no interest in serving us, or doing anything for that matter.Food was quite good and if the service is improved, this place has potential.

The service was good. The staff was friendly & very accommodating. In order to make a fair comparison, we had to have the chicken satay, pad Thai, and pineapple fried rice. Chicken was nice & moist, peanut sauce was fine (a little sparse, but decent). The noodles & fried rice were good. I've certainly had better (Le Moose in Fremont does all three dishes better). I'd go again if folks wanted to meet in San Rafael & wanted Thai food. However, I wouldn't go out of my way to dine there again.
