We found Saltyard on OpenTable after leaving SFO. It was Tuesday early dinner and restaurant was relatively empty. Although in fairness it was 95 degrees and majority of the restaurants were empty on the street. We ordered the Burrata salad and and cheese burger (apparently they have reduced their burger offerings to the single menu item). Both items were very good. The only negative from our visit was their air conditioning was not working, so the restaurant was hot. They must be monitoring their reviews, because what appeared to be the manager was walking the room, and we had several servers attending to our table. Overall we were very pleased and plan a return visit.

Tap & Tavern is located inside the Embassy Suites Hotel overlooking San Francisco Bay. They have a very limited menu and I must admit, a little pricey.I have taken my elderly mom there on a couple occasions as she enjoys watching the planes land and take off at San Francisco International Airport nearby. Tap & Tavern is adjacent to the paved Bay and Shore trail which goes around a tidal pond next to the hotel.I wouldnât go there just for a meal as their menu is limited and somewhat pricey. But it is a convenient location to have lunch either before or after a stroll around the trail. Iâve always ordered the French Dip sandwich which is quite good and mom always had the crispy skin salmon which she says is delicious. The service can be slow as there are only two people working there during lunch time. They donât get a big lunch time crowd. There is outdoor seating but we always sit inside next to the large windows and the view of the bay.

Our Windows on the Bay offers American-style cuisine with Asian flair overlooking San Francisco Bay serving breakfast, lunch or dinner. The menu features California-inspired creations and casual fare in a waterfront setting.
We stay at the Hilton SFO Airport Bayview hotel often. Sometimes, itâs for an âovernight,â prior to an early morning flight â like this visit â and sometimes for days of meetings, at the hotel. We often dine at Fire|Vine Restaurant/Bar, just as we did in September. We had arrived from Phoenix, and after check-in, made our way down to Fire|Vine, which is immediately off of the hotelâs lobby.Going back in time, the âlobby restaurantâ was called âWindows on the Bay,â and occupied the space beyond where Fire|Vine is located. Then, this Hilton was exploring more of a âfine-diningâ concept, and Fire|Vine was an unnamed lobby bar. Some years ago, that concept changed, and Fire|Vine was remodeled, and became the lobby restaurant and bar, and the old Windows area was converted into a breakfast buffet.Fire|Vine Restaurant & Bar is now more casual, though with the remodel, attractive. The bar has more of the feeling of a âsports bar,â with the large TV screens, but there are several table dining areas, and each with a bit of a different feel.We were in the dining area, just at the edge of the bar. We were promptly seated, and had menus in hand immediately. We have always found service to be quick, though sometimes, a bit too quick. This was not one of those times, and the pacing was excellent. Many of the menu items are holdovers from Windows on the Bay, but some of our favorites did not make the cut, when the bar, and its concept were altered. Once, there was more experimentation with the wine list, but now it seems rather âstandardized,â and not so interesting, as before. Still, though short and sweet, we made do with: Hess Collection and Au Bon Climat Chardonnays. We started with the San Francisco Crab Cakes w/ tangy slaw and rémoulade â very good, and the slaw WAS âtangy.â The two cakes were firm, nicely grilled and had very little filler/binder.Next, we did an Ahi Sandwich w/ daikon sprouts, cucumbers, tomatoes and wasabi aioli, on a brioche bun â this has always been a favorite dish of mine, and once more, the Ahi steak was nicely seared, and very flavorful. The âlimited-time specialâ of Fire & Vine Street Tacos w/ marinated skirt steak and lime-garlic slaw on fresh tortillas â well done tacos, and the steak was both tender, and flavorful. We added a side of the Bacon Mac & Cheese â pretty good, but nothing special here.I added more wine, and went with: De Loach Le Roi Pinot Noir, and the Alexander Valley Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon. The venue is attractively decorated, and though the room is open, and was rather full, the noise level was only moderate. The lighting is very nice, with enough âtask lightingâ over the tables, to see what one is eating. As mentioned, service was good, and we did not feel rushed in any way.For an airport hotelâs lobby restaurant and bar, the food was very good, and other than the limited wine list, a lovely dinner. And, unlike a few recent visits, my wife was joining me for dinner this night!

Went for lunch and the food was good, but, nothing special. Huge menu to chose from, so, maybe I just didn't get the right meal but it seemed many of the choices were sandwiches and fries. If you're looking for something healthy, there were a couple of choices, but, there weren't many lunch options in the area. The group loved the appetizers.

The food here is definitely better than eating at the airport. but at the prices you might as well be at the airport. This is the one downside to the place as otherwise the view is nice and the staff are welcoming and efficient. Management really needs to look at is pricing. just because you can charge a high price does not mean you should, especially as the people eating there are already paying fro a room.

We came here for drinks and appetizers on a Sunday afternoon. Our waitress was really friendly and gave us good recommendations about the food. We each had a cocktail, both of which were delicious. I had the jalapeno/cucumber margarita which I loved. I would have had two but needed to be able to walk. We also had the calamari that was very good. Well worth a visit when you're on Broadway.

Stopped here twice for drinks while in Burlingame. Really enjoyed the variety of beer at decent prices. Friendly service and great setting. They have a cool games room although we only passed by while on the way to the restrooms. The food looked great although we ate elsewhere; I would return to try out some of the German items they had on the menu for Oktoberfest.
