Reviews on American food in Portola, California, United States. Portola is the only incorporated city in Plumas County, California, United States. The population was 2,104 at the 2010 census, down from 2,227 at the 2000 census. Portola is located on the Middle Fork of the Feather River, and was named after Spanish explorer Gaspar de Portolá, despite his never having actually explored the surrounding area. The place name is generally mispronounced, with stress on the middle syllable, thus ignoring the accent mark in its namesake's surname.

friendly staff. good innovation in dishes by chef and decent selection. So very sad flavors covered up by way too much salt -- overpowering, I almost sent mine back. Credit for perfectly done asparagus -- well warmed but still a crunch. Nice presentatations, too. Just ruined by too much salt.

Restaurant serving pizzas, pasta, burgers, appetizers, salads. Has 14 rotating beer selections and is fun and family friendly!
We are traveling nearby and found this in Trip Advisor I was hungry for pizza and so here we went. We had two pizzas and a chicken Marsala dish. Everyone was happy including our more picky people. Lovely staff, good range of choices of dishes, wine and beer.

This "food wagon" serves wonderfully prepared food and huge portions. (Best BLT I ever had in my life.) All dining is at picnic tables out front, where you can each your sweet potato fries and look at the mountains. Don't miss this if you're in Graeagle.

We came in for dinner on a smokey August night. The Mushroom Ravioli was awesome. Lovely filling, great homemade pasta and a totally decadent mushroom Buerre Blanc sauce. Pot Roast with mashed potatoes and perfectly cooked vegetables was great also. Dinners came with a lovely salad as well. Overall a great meal offering great value.

Wonderful food in a very nice out-of-the-way restaurant.
We had the pesto chicken and the salmon Puccini. Both were delicious and very filling. We also had wine by the glass, warm bread, and fresh salads. We will return!

we decided to celebrate our anniversary at the whitehawk restaurant for dinner. while making our reservations we found out that they do have outside dining and that you can take your dog with you which for us made it perfect.they have vegetarian options which worked for me and my husband had a perfectly cooked filet mignon which he said was delicious.the setting is beautiful, the staff is really nice and the food was delicious, we will definitely to bak again just because! We are honored you chose us to celebrate your anniversary and that you were able to bring your pup to dinner with you. We look forward to seeing you again in the future for another perfect meal!

We certainly enjoyed the wonderful ambiance in this special setting. We were seated next to the magnificent fireplace with a crackling fire on a chilly evening. The food (shrimp carbonara and chicken with pappardelle) was only average. Both pasta dishes were served in a sauce that was way too "thick" and pasty.Service was very good; thank you.
