A pleasant dining experience but not really outstanding. Modestly priced and pleasant atmosphere.

The service is prompt and extremely friendly. The food is extremely fresh and tasty. The music is a little sappy, but all in all a wonderful find.

I don't normally expect airport food to be moderately priced or especially well-prepared. The rent charged to the vendors and the long lines filled with frustrated and irritable patrons do nmot allow adequate food preparation time. Japanese sushi and traditional dishes seem to fit the bill nicely since much of the dishes can be prepared ahead of time and quickly served. Our chicken soba noodle soup and chicken teriyaki were excellent and moderately priced (that is, cheaper than most Japanese restaurants). What a nice surprise when our flight was delayed over three hours!!!

Was happier after my first visit. Won't be returning a third time. Chef said that "quality daikon was not available" at their store at this time, hence that was the reason they didn't have it for the tempura dipping sauce. Huh? There are many grocery stores around that have daikon now, it's not out of season. Also the honey walnut shrimp sushi roll tasted weird, I think because the walnuts were over-toasted and didn't taste like walnuts anymore. I know, that is not traditional Japanese sushi. I was expecting something that tastes like the honey walnut prawns entree in nearby Chinese restaurants (which I don't think is a traditional Chinese dish either).

Thoroughly enjoyed Chirashi dinner at Amami last week. Fish was exceptionally fresh, presentation and taste were excellent. We also ordered one of the more artistic rolls, all dishes were outstanding.

We arrived from a long flight and we were staying in the Hilton Union Square, which is on OâFarrell Street, with Ono Sushi across the road (also a halal fast food shop and several bars, cafes and other restaurants nearby). We were a party of 5 and we ordered lots of plates - sushi, tempura, soft shell crab, tofu, gyoza - and all that we ordered was excellent. We had 3 beers and 1 soft drink. Our bill came to $151. I would happily eat there again.

Not as good as Amami San Sushi which is 2 min walk almost across the street . Also prices are higher here. Besides the staff it is not very friendly
