we didn't know what to expect walking in. there were a couple patrons in the bar, the restaurant was empty. but we sat down and ordered anyway.i had a chicken sandwich and it was very good. tasty, seasoned nicely. hubby had shrimp and fries. his shrimp was excellent. valerie J was awesome - she kept my soda glass filled. it's wonderful eating somewhere where the food is good the staff is friendly and makes you feel at home. great place to eat.

An enticing new menu, specialty cocktails and that always breathtaking view await you at the new Sunset Restaurant at Cher-Ae Heights Casino. Casual Humboldt County dining that will absolutely delight your senses. Sunset Restaurant at Cher-Ae Heights Casi
We've been meaning to go to Italian nite. Disappointmen!! Nothing written in the form of menu or insert, not even outside the restaurant entrance. Had to ask if it was happening. No Italian decor, napkins, table cloth, title flag, music.... nothing. 3 choices basically noodles smothered in butter for $15.99, salad extra $2. Restaurant pretty empty, service slow. What a bust.

My friend and I enjoy frequent breakfasts here, looking through the window out at Trinidad head and the local pier. But we seem to order the same thing each time - blackberry pancakes. They taste just like large fluffy buttermilk pancakes are supposed to. The staff is very nice and there are many other wonderful food options! Omelettes are also quite good. But it is hard not to order those yummy pancakes when we go!

My daughter, my granddaughter, and I all agree this was a great breakfast place. Good food and good service. We sat near the entry with full view of the pier on a beautiful sunny morning. Our waitress was friendly and attentive to warming up my coffee regularly so I give her a high rating. I will definitely return upon my next visit and you should too!

Definitely worth searching out this place. Yes, it's off the beaten path a little south of Trinidad. Moonstone Grill has mostly window seating, all with stunning views of the North Coast. Service was genuine and spot-on. Although we only ordered starters, we never felt rushed. A wonderfully varied wine list has many by-the-glass options. Lobster wontons, crab cake (the biggest I've ever seen) and a chopped Caesar salad found us with a little room for a luscious citrous cheesecake with a chocolate ganache - wicked good! Go!!

Stopped for dinner, pretty busy. Waited about 20 minutes, but after being seated, service was good. Waitress very friendly and helpful. I had the chowder together with some raw and grilled oysters, delicious! Wife had a cheese burger that was over cooked, but the shoe string fries were good. Good bottled beer and wine selection . Tip: they do take and honor reservations Hi kjm55, Thank you for taking a moment to share your feedback with us in the TripAdvisor community, we're so happy to know that you enjoyed our locally famous clam chowder, we hope you'll be back to share another meal with us very soon!

We ate here with our two kids. The ambiance on the patio was very nice. The wine list was good and the menu was as well. The oysters were served too warm but were still good. The cod was great as was the filet mignon. My youngest child ordered a pasta with butter sauce. It was also served with parmesan cheese which he decided he didn't like. We asked them to remake it without the cheese. It took literally 45 minutes more to send out a bowl of pasta with butter. I am convinced the chef was annoyed that we sent back the original pasta and punished a picky 10 year old for that. I don't recommend this place if you have children.
