Quality not good meaning the crab claw app was freezer burnt. Asada tacos meat cold steak on the combo 3 was tuff. And the grilled octopus also was freezer burnt . It looked like sponge and tasted the same. You would think the waitress would wonder why no one is eating much and ask. And waitress did not come by to check either we had to chase her down to pay.
Looking for some fish and chips in Imperial Beach. Found this little place, tucked away in a strip mall. It is not a fancy place, but the man and his father running it are providing wonderful food. I hope they are wildly successful. (I think they just opened in late 2014)Food was STELLAR. My son claims it was best fish n chips he's ever had - he might be right. Large, flakey pieces of fish, hand-dipped. They cook it after you order it, so there is a bit of a wait. Shrimp were huge and meaty - not all batter. Fries and coleslaw were very good, land you know how people can mess up both.Homemade tarter and cocktail sauce were good. Didn't care much for the hushpuppies, but then again, I never care for the hushpuppies. We come to I.B. often on vacation. I surely hope these guys can find their customers and make a go of it, because I will come back every time I'm in town. Best of luck!
Where to Eat in Imperial Beach: The Best Restaurants and Bars

My first impression was that i walked into a sportsbar complete with televisions mounted every six feet along the edges of the ceiling, playing all the current sports of the season. Music blaring an up tempo non discriptive music almost to the point of being annoying. But what I thought was a drink bar turned out to be a sushi bar with no one sitting there. The tables tops were brushed aluminum with an assortment of chair types and the floor cermaic tiles. This definitely contributed to the overall noise level of sports and music. The Food handler was friendly enough, but the food ordered did not arrive all together in a group delivery. It arrived piece meal, my Shrimp burrito arrived first, the spicy tuna role ten minutes later, followed by the Soup dishes my companions ordered. The burrito was cold by the time all the food arrived for us to begin eating. The tortilla was greasy and the shrimp stuffing cold and altogether bland. I was not impressed with this dish nor the service. The spicy tuna role was not spicy and the dollop of Wasabi too small to spice anything up. There was a decent amount of tuna, a good balance of rice and other items. The role wasn't wrapped tight enough to hold the shape and fell apart while trying to eat it. I generally like to eat the cold dishes first followed by the hot ones. That didn't happen and I am not sure why. The place was not real busy, there were many open tables. If this was truly a bar first and became a restaurant as an after thought then that would explain the disjoined appearance of the room, service and food. I should have ordered the fish soups, the were by far the best of the choices made this evening. They smelled great, tasted good and delivered hot. If I ever make it back, this is what I will go for.

Had the mahi mahi sandwich, tasty, but dry. The ambience and location were great as was the service. May give them another try when I am in town again.

Located in the Pier South Resort, SEA180° offers innovative cuisine and oceanfront dining in Imperial Beach.
A newish restaurant a bit off the beaten path. We thought it was great. Contemporary and thoughtful design elements and top notch service. Lovely big patio right on the sand. A little on the expensive side but it is a special kind of place. We enjoyed the grilled brussels spouts and cauliflower starter, the catch of the day entree and a pasta. All delicious. Lemon tart for dessert was particularly noteworthy. We are looking forward to a second trip.
