The reviews for this place when it first opened were not very good, but we tried it out. The atmosphere is very Japanese. The food wasn't the best but I've been to a lot worse. It's great for a quick Eastside sushi indulgence. The waiter we had was great. It's really not a bad place for the price. We will return.

Nothing special like the most kinds of this restaurants.....food, food and food coking in huge portions, no too much flavour! But if you are hungry or if you have a big party, this is the place....really $$$$$

When Big Tuna first opened in Palmdale, I remember being so pleased with their incredible sashimi and seaweed wraps, but unimpressed with their selection, staff, and speed. I soon found other sushi places in the Antelope Valley where the sushi was so fresh and creatively prepared that none of the other issues mattered. Several years went by and I am happy to report that my return to Big Tuna found an extensive menu, attentive staff, and express service that lends itself perfectly to a business lunch. Unfortunately, the food itself was now lacking. The fish I was served was nowhere near sushi grade, even though it was the middle of the week and the company should have been able to transport fresh pieces. The rice tasted as if it had been leftover from the night before, refrigerated, and heated in a microwave. The fatty chicken in the yakitori was an oily mess. Having said that, Big Tuna continues to excel at their flash-fried tempura, cucumber salad, and crisp white daikon radish garnish. The lunch combinations are a steal at $9 for two entrees served with salad, soup, and sides. My waiter with the short bleach-blond hair was notably helpful, attentive, and charming. However, in the end a restaurant is only as good as its food. I would suggest they re-evaluate their fish supplier. Sashimi should be like butter, not like leather.

I love the food here. Sometimes the service can be slow due to the place being so packed with customers. I have never had bad service or bad sushi. I have brought all my friends here and everyone loves it. I have only ordered sushi myself but friends who ordered the tempura loved it. I think it is the best in Palmdale, if not in the AV.

It's our favorite restaurant period. It's family run with the best sushi in the United States. We are treated like royalty every time we come even with our 10 month old baby. It's a hidden gem that is one of those places that someday will be gone.

When you walk in, you are greeted with a loud mass of noise confusion and activity . It is crowded (at least on Friday at 6). Busy with people of all ages eating all sorts of sushi and lovely Japanese dishes. We sat at the bar and had three different rolls - all three were fabulous. Not too expensive and served fast. Excellent service and attention from the staff. I would recommend this for good food -= not for a quiet dinner.
