It is a suburb in the San Francisco Bay Area located about 25 miles (40 km) east of Oakland, and 6 miles (9.7 km) west of Livermore. The population was 70,285 at the 2010 census. In 2005 and 2007, Pleasanton was ranked the wealthiest middle-sized city in the United States by the Census Bureau. Pleasanton is home to the headquarters of Workday, Ellie Mae, Roche Molecular Diagnostics, Blackhawk Network Holdings, and Veeva Systems. Other major employers include Kaiser Permanente, Safeway, Oracle, Nordstrom and Macy's. Although Oakland is the Alameda County seat, a few county offices and a courthouse are located in Pleasanton. The Alameda County Fairgrounds are located in Pleasanton, where the county fair is held during the last week of June and the first week of July. Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park is located on the west side of town.

It's a pleasant setting, adequate service and ok food. Sing Ma is short for Singapore and Malaysia, respectively. Nothing caught my fancy. I'd give it a 2.5 star if it's available.

Cafe Taiwan is the latest and best Mandarin style Chinese restaurant to inhabit this little strip mall on Stanley Blvd. adjacent to a McDonald's.The decor is spartan and generic. The food however is great.Unlike a great many Chinese restaurants Cafe Taiwan maintains a very refreshing subtlety to its food. As an example you will not find your lemon chicken smothered in an overpowering lemon sauce, nor will you dry green beans overcooked and tough.The restaurant always seems busy in the evening but take-out orders are ready within the 20 minute time frame that they always state.Cafe Taiwan has become our favorite Chinese restaurant in the area and we have yet to be disappointed by any item on the menu.The only and rather annoying negative to this restaurant is the fact that they do not accept credit cards of any kind, so be prepared.

My family and I was standing outside the restaurant waiting on another family member when a pleasant gentleman opened the door and very nicely invited us inside. We were asked if we had a reservation and we did not, but was seated rather quickly. After being seated we waited about 15 minutes before anyone came to our table. When the server came, he was apologetic and seemed kind, all was forgiven. We had to ask for water and napkins. We drinks we brought, they were set at the end of table for us to pass to each other. Finally I had enough and stood up to ask for the check for the drinks and it seemed as if everyone sprang into action and service was prompt from that point. Although our food took an excessive amount of time, the server was continually apologizing for the poor service. He comped our soup and drinks. The food was good and if not for the poor service, would have given 4 or 5 stars.

I visit this hidden gem in Pleasanton so often the staff knows me and my friends and what our favorite dishes are! Always, always we order the black bean fish filet, then peruse the menu and pick something old or something new. They never disappoint. The prices are moderate, the dishes are prepared with fresh ingredients and always tasty. They even provide appetizers at no cost, an unheard of perk these days. As you can guess they staff is friendly. What do I not like about this spot? That they are closed on Mondays! A highly recommended destination. No bar, no outdoor seating, plenty of parking.

Went for a family dinner to celebrate my wifeâs birthday. The service at this P.F. Changâs in Pleasanton felt like I was visiting a Dennyâs; no, thatâs not fair to Dennyâs. The food wasnât bad, but the service was inattentive, lazy and not what weâre used to. Save yourself a bad experience and go to Walnut Creek.

This is by far the best Oriental food in Northern California. Fantastic and varied menu selections that are not the 'run-of-the-mill offerings. Fried baby libster tails, Walnut Prawns with prawns the size of silver dollars and scallop dishes are a must. Great service at this well appointed restaurant. Strongly recommend reservations for weekends. Parking directly behind the building but fills fast on Friday and Saturday evenings. This is one restaurant that is a must for great food and reasonable prices.
