BJ's in San Rafael is located a two-minute drive from where I live, so it becomes a choice when we want to stay close and have a moderately-priced meal. It is a family-friendly sports bar/restaurant - huge, high-ceilinged - that is actually pretty attractive. The warm dim lighting is nice. Knowing that it is a chain restaurant should adjust your expectations. The menu is vast (indicating much of it comes from the freezer), but they have paid attention to having many healthy choices, and there are often new items. They have a number of vegetarian items, and they are happy to modify entrees to make them so. They are, of course, known for their large selection of beers, but they serve some good wines as well, and on Tuesday night it is half-price. As may be expected, the staff turns over a lot and the dining experience will be affected by the host/hostess and server. I have only had a few off experiences, though, in the course of many visits.

I have been here many times. The food is consistently great. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and they have a cozy outside deck with plants (a banana tree) and colorful mosaics. The service is excellent and the chef/owner Bill is a really great guy and always welcoming. This is one of my favorite places to eat. I highly recommend it.

Terrapin Crossroads is a healthy down-home all-American eatery, taproom & lounge. We provide a comfortable, family-friendly environment, that merges music with food. We pride ourselves on our fresh, unique beer selection and a delicious and approachable m
To date, I have found Terrapin Crossroads to be the best live music venue in Marin. Adding to that, it also has fabulous food in the restaurant area, with great service. The restaurant has both upstairs and downstairs dining. Go upstairs if you prefer just to eat and donât want to see the live bands, or alternately, sit downstairs and enjoy the food and see the musicians in action. If you donât want food, just hang out in the bar area, which serves a multitude of cocktails, and watch the live bands. If you want a truely great live, yet fairly intimate, music experience, you can get tickets for the âspecialâ artists and bands that perform at Terrapin. Google their site to check upcoming gigs. We recently saw the legendary Colin Hay (ex lead singer and song writer for the Aussie band Men At Work.....famous for âI live in land Down Under...â, amongst many others. I am an Aussie ex-pat living in Marin County. Seeing Colin Hay and his totally awesome and talented band in such an intimate venue, was definitely very special. Brunch, minus the music, is also a fab option. Indoor or outdoor dining. Plenty of parking onsite, with complimentary (free) valet parking service. What more could you ask for? Enjoy

Marinitas features a menu inspired by dishes found throughout Mexico and Latin America using local and seasonal products. Through the collaboration of Heidi Krahling and Frank Villa, Marinitas delivers Latin focused lusciousness that is an exciting blend
I always meet colleagues here for a quick and easy dinner before our annual evening meetings. Service is friendly and often a bit slow, but the Mexican food is great, the chips and salsa are great, and the margaritas are really good.

Cyclists make this their post ride destination for good reason. Prompt service, cold drinks (beer) and the self proclaimed 'French laundry of sausages '. Best bet is to get there when they open. Inside bike hangers fill up quickly as the conversation and laughter creates the ideal din following a long morning ride.

The place where we had planned to eat was closed, so this was our other option. We had light lunches, alongside beers, and were very happy with the meals, the service, and the beers, (especially the pomegranate one! ) .Thank you so much for your nice review. We are glad you stumbled upon us on 4th street and had an opportunity to enjoy what we have to offer. Cheers from the Iron Springs Public House team!
