Itâs a great environment to meet up with friends and if you are lucky they will even give you separate checks. The trouble is that they are not consistent. Sometimes the food is awesome and other times the service is terrible. Sometimes they will divide up the check, but lately they seem less willing. It would be nice to have more specials for lunch to choose from. The salmon salad is my favorite but it might be off the menu now. Iâm sure their beer is good but we usually get Sauvignon Blanc with our meals.

Froggy's is one of my favorite places to have a beer, appetizer, cheeseburger, or a sandwich like the Deli Turkey Pesto. Alexis, Elena, Meghan, Diana, Karen, Miko, and Adam are very friendly and excellent servers. TVs are mounted around bar and dining area, so you can watch sports.

This is a great place for pizza lovers and chicken wing lovers! They have a variety of vegetarian pizzas that are delicious even for those that aren't vegetarian! We tried their original chicken wings and a pizza with slivers of almonds and caramelized onions on it! Yummy! Another time we had the Mushroom Pizza with 3 types of mushrooms. Yummy! They sell pizza by the slice and the portions are very generous! They have an outdoor seating area that's heated so you can bring your four legged friends along too.The prices were very reasonable too! Great mixed drinks at the bar too!

This review is for the new Vacaville location. My wife and I went in just a few nights in to the soft opening for the new Vacaville location. They don't "officially" open until mid-September(it's a restaurant thing), but now they are running rotating short menus to try to get the kitchen up to speed. They appetizers we tried were very good, and they were willing to work with us and modify the items to accommodate the fact that we are vegetarian. Everybody we dealt with was extremely friendly and professional. A big shout out to Ashley for her great beer recommendations. We will be coming back.

While in Davis, having our car serviced on Chiles Road auto-row, we decided it was lunch time which meant munch time while we waited. A member of our party suggested going to Applebee's on Research Park where she used to walk to for lunch when working for UC Davis I.T. Let me tell you, Davis is NOTHING like it used to be when I attended decades ago! This place and all the surrounding area was open fields except for the "Palm's Playhouse" (relocated to Woodland) and the two, now defunct liquor stores located a foot outside of the City of Davis city limits allowing for the sale of alcohol (YES, believe it or not, when I attended UC Davis, alcohol was not allowed to be sold within the city limits!!!) Now, this area is filled with housing, restaurants, auto dealerships and the like...So, why not try Applebee's? It is a nationwide chain with a fairly good selection at a reasonable price.Problems started immediately upon our arrival; our hostess initially wanted to seat us on barstools in the bar area...really? the place is empty, why seat us in the bar?We asked for a table; which would have been fine, except it was raining fairly hard and the window started leaking and splashed on our table. Our server apologized and told us he needed to alert his manager. The manager asked us if we would move to the table behind us....okay...no problem, we moved, including moving our own silverware, beverages, and menus to the new seatingTo complicate matters, at the new table I made a dufus mistake and accidentally knocked my water glass over; our server cleaned up my spillage, but then neglected to re-pour my water, so I was without any beverage.I decided to go simple and order the bacon hamburger that was accompanied by fries...DISAPPOINTMENT! The bacon was over-cooked, the burger was small, unflavorful and unsatisfying making me wish we had went to the "In and Out" burger joint down the street that would have been half the cost and, most probably twice the burger! My companions fared better; they both ordered the luncheon combo specials (one had chicken tenders and soup, the other had chicken tender and a salad). They both said it was just "okay."The only thing I did like was the "table kiosk" where I was able to pay on demand and probably could have ordered from it as well...I like technological convenience and this is a "plus" feature I am finding installed through-out the U.S.I have been to other Applebee's in my time (one in Woodland, CA and the other in Fresno, CA) so I am somewhat familiar with this chain restaurant; unfortunately, I found this one mediocre in service and in food...I would suggest you move on to an alternative restaurant if you are in Davis.
