To craft our menu, we traveled up and down India's coast, from Kerala to Hyderabad and beyond. The foods from these regions boasted an arsenal of flavors like none other - curries that were simultaneously spicy yet cooling, fresh seafood prepared in homem
Some individual dishes are excellent, but they are very heavy and there is redundancy on the menu, with one appetizer showing up again as a side to the main dish. Service stunningly just okay. Not welcoming, timing off with multiple appetizers brought at once rather than paced, empty dishes lingering on the table, water glasses repeatedly not refilled. We were in no hurry at all and ordered in two parts, but the meal lasted an hour, and we thought well that was quick!. The timing was like in a neighborhood Chinese restaurant, not what you expect from a 1-Star restaurant. This is not a full evening out. Also, ambience completely unexciting. If you are plowing through the list of Michelin 1-stars in the Bay Area you will come to a jolt when you get to this one. I am not a harsh critic but these was really just not okay. Move to the next in your list.

I order salmon wherever I go. The salmon at 3Sixty was the best ever. It was cooked to perfection (rare as I always prefer). Service could not have been better. Very impressive!

With accomplished chefs proficient in all of the specialties that make Asian-Burmese cuisine sought after by food aficionados, Rangoon Ruby is fast striking a chord with diners looking for a fresh, modern approach to one of Asia's most popular cuisines. I
My wife and I don't live in the Bay Area, but we have eaten at Rangoon Ruby's a number of times during visits there (in various locations). This time, we dined at the Burlingame location, and this visit was not in the same league as the prior excellent experiences we had had. We asked for the food to be "medium" on the spicy scale, and we felt every dish lacked spice. Our waiter was friendly, but distracted, and I had to get up twice to get his attention. He was either folding napkins or chatting with the bartender, but it didn't seem he was being as attentive as he should have been.

We had an excelent dinner and would highly recommend I Privé. There are a lot of creative dishes on the menu, but with that creativity (understandably) comes additional cost. There were a couple of items that just didn't deliver for that cost, for us (i.e. The Jada and the Josh) Putting that minor detail aside, we greatly enjoyed our dinner. Overall score 4.5

Our Windows on the Bay offers American-style cuisine with Asian flair overlooking San Francisco Bay serving breakfast, lunch or dinner. The menu features California-inspired creations and casual fare in a waterfront setting.
We stay at the Hilton SFO Airport Bayview hotel often. Sometimes, itâs for an âovernight,â prior to an early morning flight â like this visit â and sometimes for days of meetings, at the hotel. We often dine at Fire|Vine Restaurant/Bar, just as we did in September. We had arrived from Phoenix, and after check-in, made our way down to Fire|Vine, which is immediately off of the hotelâs lobby.Going back in time, the âlobby restaurantâ was called âWindows on the Bay,â and occupied the space beyond where Fire|Vine is located. Then, this Hilton was exploring more of a âfine-diningâ concept, and Fire|Vine was an unnamed lobby bar. Some years ago, that concept changed, and Fire|Vine was remodeled, and became the lobby restaurant and bar, and the old Windows area was converted into a breakfast buffet.Fire|Vine Restaurant & Bar is now more casual, though with the remodel, attractive. The bar has more of the feeling of a âsports bar,â with the large TV screens, but there are several table dining areas, and each with a bit of a different feel.We were in the dining area, just at the edge of the bar. We were promptly seated, and had menus in hand immediately. We have always found service to be quick, though sometimes, a bit too quick. This was not one of those times, and the pacing was excellent. Many of the menu items are holdovers from Windows on the Bay, but some of our favorites did not make the cut, when the bar, and its concept were altered. Once, there was more experimentation with the wine list, but now it seems rather âstandardized,â and not so interesting, as before. Still, though short and sweet, we made do with: Hess Collection and Au Bon Climat Chardonnays. We started with the San Francisco Crab Cakes w/ tangy slaw and rémoulade â very good, and the slaw WAS âtangy.â The two cakes were firm, nicely grilled and had very little filler/binder.Next, we did an Ahi Sandwich w/ daikon sprouts, cucumbers, tomatoes and wasabi aioli, on a brioche bun â this has always been a favorite dish of mine, and once more, the Ahi steak was nicely seared, and very flavorful. The âlimited-time specialâ of Fire & Vine Street Tacos w/ marinated skirt steak and lime-garlic slaw on fresh tortillas â well done tacos, and the steak was both tender, and flavorful. We added a side of the Bacon Mac & Cheese â pretty good, but nothing special here.I added more wine, and went with: De Loach Le Roi Pinot Noir, and the Alexander Valley Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon. The venue is attractively decorated, and though the room is open, and was rather full, the noise level was only moderate. The lighting is very nice, with enough âtask lightingâ over the tables, to see what one is eating. As mentioned, service was good, and we did not feel rushed in any way.For an airport hotelâs lobby restaurant and bar, the food was very good, and other than the limited wine list, a lovely dinner. And, unlike a few recent visits, my wife was joining me for dinner this night!
