Had never been here before but my husband loves diners so of course we had to go. We had 2 teens with us and one very picky one with allergies and they were able to accommodate. The food was delicious. The staff was friendly and quick. Never a drink went dry. loved this place. Would absolutely recommend this place for Burgers, Fries, shakes and I had a cobb salad. Loved it.

We enjoyed our breakfast at Nickel's Diner. The food was good and the atmosphere was nostalgic. It was close to the loft apartment we rented for our visit to Los Angeles. Prices were high but this is downtown Los Angeles so it is understood. We like the Pantry better and it has similar prices.

Yes, the food is good. It is not fantastic or any better than any other diner for breakfast food. They only accept cash. This is a place where parking is scare and expensive. The Original Pantry does not validate. Food is basic. The draw for this place is the cult-like following. Staff is not overly helpful or friendly, they get your order and go away. You wonât be hovered over. Everything is clean and neat, simply old from a lost era..

The food there is great. I especially like the Chile Omelet. The pastrami is world famous. Don't go there after 3:00 p.m. because they close at 4:00 p.m. and after 4:00 p.m. the neighborhood transforms into a very dangerous area. I made the mistake of parking to eat there are 4:00 p.m. one day not knowing that they closed at 4:00 p.m. and when I went back to my car someone was trying to break in.
