This place is mobbed on Christmas, and open late. You'll find a combination of traditional Chinese dishes and Thai. Both are reasonably well done. The prices are moderate but depend on what you order. You can take out. Lots of dishes for vegetarians. Its right on the coast highway -- easy to find.

Brand new owners and, thank goodness, someone who knows how to cook Chinese food. The good news -- the food is very good ----- the bad news - it is basically take-out. (And THEY DELIVER w/$15 minimum from 4-8:30pm). We tried 3 dishes, all good, mu shu pork was excellent. When you try different dishes, if you want it customized, they are open to your request. The shop is in Strawflower Shopping Center just around the corner from Starbucks and Subway. They have several tables, so you could eat in. They also have a steam table and an inexpensive box food price. BUT - to get the good stuff, order it from menu and get it freshly cooked. Prices are quite moderate for the amount and quality. Open until 8:30 pm, closed Sunday

Relatively new. I think it opened about 6 montha ago? It's got great food at great prices - it's answered my prayers for a great Chinese restaurant here on the San Mateo County coast. Mango chicken is to die for, and only $8.

Having been to China a handful of times, my palate has little tolerance for the non-authentic Americanized version of Chinese food. This is my "go to" Chinese place on the Coastside. It is a small place (perhaps 10 tables) with a large menu and a vigorous take-out and delivery business. The chefs were speaking Chinese. The service is very friendly and the food is very good and very authentic; portions are large. My favorites are the Mongolian beef, the salt and pepper chicken wings, and the crispy duck. There is also an extensive vegetarian menu. If you are on the Coastside and have a yen for Chinese food, this is your place.

We were searching for something other than drive-thru fast food on our road trip north to San Francisco. Driving through a large square strip mall just off the highway, we found Chef Lee and were glad we did.They have a large classic Chinese menu. There were several tables so we could have eaten in if we chose. Food was fast and delicious!Call ahead for take out: 650-712-8511. Open daily 11 am to 8 pm.

Nice atmosphere - mediocre at best food. If you are stuck on the Coast and are disparate for a Chinese Food Fix, well, give in and go here. But, there is wonderful Chinese food over the hill (on the other side of 280) and in San Francisco -- so eat first, then come over to visit the Coast.
