The Korean bbq itself makes for a great time together with any family or group. But GEN brings it one step above the others with their service, atmosphere, and of course food! Whether it's family, or co workers, it fits the bill for food, fun, and togetherness.

Their ribs do not have lot of meat on them, hence the title of my review. Their other meats - the brisket, pulled pork and chicken are dry and over-smoked. And they are expensive, given the quality of their food. This is a favorite among tourists, though. Dickey's Barbecue is a much a better choice, in my opinion.

My wife and I stopped by here for dinner on a Monday night. The smiling hostess greeted us promptly and seated us. The waitress came by and took our drink and food orders, but then came back only once immediately after our food was served. The hostess walked by and I asked her if I could get a coaster for my large beer that I ordered, she said that the coasters were for bar use only, so I had to use a napkin instead. The waiter that was also assigned to our table did not come by until we were completely done with our meals. Never saw either of them again, so I used the pay at the table Ziosk and we left.
The food here is good for a fast food type of Hawaiian BBQ. My favorite is the chicken katsu. I personally don't order the bbq beef. It's not terrible, it's just it has too much of a ginger after-taste for my liking, but my family likes it, so it's just me really. They have good portions and at a reasonable price. We also get the spam musubi and I like the macoroni salad. Service has always been great. I don't know if it's the cooks they have on certain days, but there have been times when I've ordered the chicken katsu and got really dry end pieces. The spam musubi sometimes has it's issues like others have said; not enough sauce, rice is a little dry or the spam slices are too thin. With that said, if you don't want to drive to Cerritos for L&L or wait for a table at the Loft, this is a good place to get your Hawaiian BBQ fix.
Came here with friends. Got seated right away. Food was excellent. Fresh variety of meat as well as squid, shrimp and octopus.Three different all you can eat packages. The reason why I didnât give them a five was the fact that they were unfriendly and seated us in a far away table.Over all a good experience
