People are changing the way they eat -- they want unique, healthy options, and MAKE pizza+salad delivers in an innovative way. Now open, we're excited to give our community a healthy alternative to fast food and a flavorful reminder of how awesome it is t
Went there for the first time recently. This place is awesome! They serve pizza and salads that are as fresh as Iâve ever had. You can choose the ingredients for your salad as well as your pizza, or go with one of their standard choices. All are the same price. The pizzas are fresh, with either a regular, wheat, or gluten free crust. There are a huge selection of fresh ingredients to choose from. The service is fast and efficient, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. There are tables inside as well as outside to dine at, and take out is also a popular option. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone, and this is a welcome addition to the East Village! You wonât be disappointed! We really appreciate the awesome review. We are so glad that you enjoyed the food, service and environment. We can't wait to have back again and again. - MAKE pizza+salad Team

For a place that has "pasta" in its name, you'd think that would be the one item they could prepare to perfection. But my husband and I came to the simultaneous conclusion that at some point we'd had much better meals in an Applebee's (!) where we had no expectations of decent, let alone, good, homemade (which Island Pasta specializes in) pasta. First, there was no salt in either of the pasta dishes (rule #1 of cooking pasta -- salt the water!), so the pasta in itself was tasteless. My husband's olio spaghetti was overcooked (rule #2: pasta should be al dente) and totally bland. So inedible and poorly prepared that we sent it back in exchange for a simple salad because there were so few menu items (nearly everything here has a sweetener of some sort in it) that he could eat. The garlic in my garlic chicken over fettucine overwhelmed everything. And there was no discernable salt in the dish, so all I tasted was garlic over a gummy cream sauce. I think those drowned lumps were the chicken. It was, as my husband said, "a TV dinner minus the sodium." When I asked for ground pepper (expecting the waiter to bring a large pepper mill), he brought over a glass jar of red pepper flakes. As for the service, it was both indifferent and clueless (2 different staffers were unfamiliar with the ingredients in their own menu--PIZZA -- their other main menu item--and one of us has a food allergy that could land us in the ER if we don't know what's in the food.) The pink lemonade just tasted pink. If you know good Italian food -- just don't eat here. Try somewhere across the bridge in Little Italy if you have a craving for pasta. Island Pasta was near our hotel and it was our last night in Coronado. The notion of "homemade pasta" sounded appetizing, and as traveling NYCers, we were a bit homesick. But we made a big mistake. I may never get the taste of garlic off my tongue and goopy sauce out of my gorge.

Went for takeout with friends. Itâs location to Spreckels Park made it a easy choice as we have three kids playing on the playground and wanted to grab a lunch for the adults and kids. Bottom line.- these sandwiches are excellent. Really top of the line.Only issues is that it seems like it takes 25 minutes to make one and they run about 10$ per sandwich. Again. These are awesome tasting sandwiches but you have to be ready to wait for a while and pay top $ for them. I will be back but probably doing delivery. Not waiting for half an hour again.

Why go to a chain that is fair quality at best. Seemingly new policies charge you extra for everything, like parm. chees to sprinkle on, or red peppers. They don't tell you this in advance. Quality is typical chain quality. There are other great pizzas on the island, like Village Pizzeria or even the Greek liquor store.
