Staying at a a nearby hotel, I was looking for good carry-out. Hummus House has a great website set up for easy ordering.I was able to park right outside the front door. When I went inside, I was immediately greeted and was told my food was being prepared and would be ready shortly (I was a tad early). The food was carefully packed with extra napkins and plastic cutlery before I asked for them - extra points for that!I made two meals out of: Greek salad, samosas, lentil soup, and beef kebab. The food was delicious - a tiny bit on the spicy side, but I like spicy ... it was just one notch above my expectation. Second meal was still tasty, though these items are best when fresh, and microwaving doesn't do any favors. There were plenty of tables in the restaurant had I chosen to order in instead.Friendly staff paying attention to detail ... delicious food.

Great Mediterranean Restaurant in the South Bay!
You can eat in or take your food home. We usually bring ours back home. There backlava is very delicious and so is there chicken, rice and hummus and pita bread. Local policemen can also often be found there having some dinner.

Owned and operated by a Greek family, who obviously know how to prepare great Greek food. Small and unassuming across from the Hertz lot at LAX (Arbor Vitae and Airport Blvd). We were staying at the Renaissance and didn't have a car waiting for a flight the next day. Didn't want to take the 20-30 min hike to In-N-out and back and nothing on the menu in the hotel grabbed us. Someone had told me about this place years ago and it was time to try it. About a 10 min walk each way and got two spectacular salads to take back to the hotel. Their menu is big however and next time we will probably eat in. Fancy no, delicious yes!

Of all the eateries in the area, a quick check of TripAdvisor made this one look the most likely to provide a good meal. Thus after a day at the corporate headquarters I popped in for dinner on my way back to my hotel. I was indeed pleasantly surprised; for a strip mall restaurant, the Mashawi Grill is not a good place for a quick meal, it is also a good bargain for the amount and quality of food served.I had the trip-tip and chicken shawarma combo meal. Served with hummus, rice pilaf, bread, and vegetables, it was really too much for one person to eat alone. In fact, I was so pleased with my first meal there that I came back on another night during my trip.A word of safety advice: while the restaurant itself is perfectly safe, the parking lot seems to attract some rather shady characters who appear to prowl between vehicles in the evening. Be sure to lock your car an not leave any valuables in it - just in case.
