Stockton was founded by Captain Charles Maria Weber in 1849 after he acquired Rancho Campo de los Franceses. The city is named after Robert F. Stockton, and it was the first community in California to have a name not of Spanish or Native American origin. The city is located on the San Joaquin River in the northern San Joaquin Valley and had an estimated population of 320,554 by the California Department of Finance for 2017. Stockton is the 13th largest city in California and the 63rd largest city in the United States. It was named an All-America City in 1999, 2004, 2015 and again in 2017.

I was here for a work dinner and the food was fantastic! The dishes were filled with flavor, they were huge portions, and fresh! The decor was nice and modern with a dimly lit atmosphere. The staff were really nice and the parking was ample. I really enjoyed my dinner!

My kids and I have eaten here for several years now. The food is consistently delicious, no matter what dishes we've tried. All of the very affordable meals are prepared fresh, so be prepared to wait a few minutes. It will be worth the wait!The gyros are excellent, as are the kababs; the hummus and tzatziki are creamy and delicious... Prefer burgers and fries? Both are first rate. They have a good variety of drinks and self service complimentary ice water is available too, which is a nice touch. The staff is always friendly. Thank you!Criticisms? I'd prefer to say again that this place is excellent and I plan on visiting many, many times. But...There are a couple of minor things that would make my experience a little better. I'm not a fan of paper or styrofoam plates and plastic forks, and the food can be a bit salty (why bury the fries in salt? There is salt on the table if I want it. No? Yes!).But again, all in all, if you like Middle Eastern food, this is the best place in Stockton, hands down. Hot, fresh, delicious food, good prices and a friendly staff. Excellent!

Papapavlos is our go to lunch place when I am in Stockton for business. Good Greek/Mediterranean food at reasonable prices. I am not a big hummus fan but theirs is addictive.And of course, the lamb dishes are usually great. Waiter/waitresses have always been very friendly and efficient. The restaurant is convenient and parking is seldom a problem.
