If I could give negative stars I would. We have been coming to Yamatani for many, many years. While the food is still as good as ever (except for the chicken teriyaki - dry, dry dry), I echo what others have said about the service. Customers are definitely an inconvenience. The staff act as if they would rather be anywhere else but this job. I wish I could say it was just our waiter, but it wasn't. It was everyone from the owner, to the hostess to the wait staff. It was our favorite restaurant in Bishop. We'll find another.

This is a popular place for Northern Chinese food (Not the old-style Cantonese/American food that was found throughout the rural west). Clean, nice menu, promptly served hot and fresh. I had the diced spicy chicken which was wonderful and very ample over steamed rice. Perfect (and reasonably priced)

1-760-872-2595 is the phone number. It is located in the terminal building of the Bishop, CA airport
First, you need a car as Thai Thai is at the airport some 2 miles from town. 2nd, your GPS will tell you that 703 is at a remote spot on airport road. Keep going to the airport and you will find the restaurant. 3rd, take a couple of bottles of wine to drink while you wait for your food. The kitchen seems to only be able to cook one dish at a time. Our spring rolls came quickly but we waited and waited for mains. Floor staff do their best but the kitchen is very slow. Food is OK but in my opinion, is not very authentic Thai. Pleasant dining room but not my best Thai experience.

The desk at our hotel recommended this restaurant. We were not disappointed. Service was good. Chinese food is generally not our favorite, but this was excellent quality. My husband had a shrimp dish and I had lemon chicken. If we lived here, we would go here often.
