Never have I ever eaten Thai food in a beach town but I'm glad I did in this case. We were a little hesitant to eat here because we weren't sure about the whole Cuban/Thai sharing restaurant concept, but the Thai food was great. I had a wide noodle dish medium heat with the pork and vegetables and it was delicious! My husband had the pad Thai and after a long day of hiking he ate almost the entire plate. Portions are generous and the price is fair for the amount of food you get. They had canned soda which I appreciated because soda always tastes funny in a beach town and the Thai iced tea was traditional and good. I would eat here again.

The best thing about Thai Elephant is that it's vegetarian friendly. Mock duck is available for many dishes, all of which are reasonably priced if you're vacationing on a shoestring. Portions are large.The second best thing is the friendly and attentive wait staff. Great job, guys! You really impressed me, especially the time you took to explain what goes into preparing the various dishes. Enjoyed the low-key ambiance of this local eatery and would definitely return if visiting Morro Bay again. Lack of loud music a big plus.

We recently visited Morro Bay and got Jasmine Thai for takeout. The food was really awful and overpriced. We got fried spring rolls and red chicken curry. The spring rolls were literally dripping in oil and were extremely bland. They were only stuffed with cabbage--no other vegetables--and had absolutely no seasoning. The red curry was only slightly better. It was also bland and was very salty. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant at all. We live in Los Angeles where the Thai restaurants are superb and this is definitely one of the worst Thai restaurants we've ever tried.
