This place is a lot like the others. I wish I could say it stood out from most restaurants but it doesn't. I've been here about 6 times since they opened and I don't have anything bad to say about it. It's clean, the service is good, and the food is what it is. The parking isn't all that great in the evening but lunch time is fine. If you like this place then it's not so bad to go to.

LDT offers tamales made of beef, chicken, pork, cheese, elote and pineapple. Unlike other fake Mexican places, the masa is sublime here and compliments the filling vs overpowering it like Mom's Tamales in Lincoln Heights. In addition, at $1, the tamales are a steal.Don;t expect much ambiance here. However, you can see the tamales being cooked in large pots. The tamales are picked to order. Speaking Spanish is a plus here. This is a tough part of town, so I recommend coming during daylight hours and not right at noon. Parking is a premium.

Dale's is hard to miss with it's 30 foot concrete donut perched on the roof! One of the last of the original Big Donut chain, Dale's donuts is definitely worth a visit. Absolutely one of the best donuts that I have ever eaten and the very nicest service!!!
