Visited tonight as a family of 4. Restaurant was busy and had a great vibe. We did have to wait 10mins for our table but wasn’t an issue. Service was friendly and prompt throughout. Small but well selected and reasonably priced wine list. Started with stuffed courgette flowers which were excellent. Then had the squash n’duja and margarita pizzas. All were spot on. Dough was beautiful as were the toppings. It’s pricey for pizza. $21 for a simple margarita but it is v good. Worth a visit for some posh pizza in nice surroundings.

Staying in nearby Loews Hollywood we thought there would be numerous eateries in and around Hollywood Boulevard (especially in the Hollywood & Highland shopping complex). However, when searching Tripadvisor we were disappointed to find many of the restaurants in this area did not get the best reviews.Having wandered for a while and finding nothing that took our fancy, we decided to give California Pizza Kitchen a go. It was mid-week and very busy. We hadn't reserved a table, the restaurant looked full and there were people with reservations waiting outside to be seated. Not letting that deter us, I approached the front of house and asked how long it would be before a table would be available. The young guy looked a bit flustered due to the amount of people and what appeared lack of wait staff but he was extremely friendly and welcoming. We were told perhaps 20 minutes to half an hour but about 10-15 minutes later they called us to a table.Once seated, there were no issues. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, making time for a bit of small talk, even though it was obvious they were run off their feet with customers. I opted for a shrimp pasta dish and it was hot and delicious. The rest of my party also enjoyed their meal.I would happily return if staying in this area.
