Japanese Ramen Noodle Bar in the heart of downtown Sonora.
Excellent ramen - almost comparable to the ones in Tokyo. Ramen was cooked perfectly, almost "al dente" and "springy". The broth was not too salty, and the generous portions of toppings complemented the noodles-broth well. Overall an excellent bowl of ramen especially on a cold fall day!The beef teriyaki bowl was a disaster though - beef was cut too big a slice, tough, and dry. Hardly any teriyaki sauce/taste to them. Rice was over cooked and dry. Ended up eating maybe 20% of the bowl, not appetizing at all.Go for the ramen, stick to the ramen. Forget the teriyaki bowls.

This restaurant has exemplary food and service. There's Chinese food and then there's high quality Chinese food. This is high quality Chinese food. Amazing.
You have to figure that in a place where one of the highest rated sushi places is Safeway, there isn't a great Sushi restaurant. We had high hopes for this new restaurant, since we have eaten their sushi from the Twain Harte Market. I admit that coming from the Bay Area we are a bit particular about our sushi. There are so many great places there - and what I'd give for one up here, but this isn't it.The air conditioning issue seems to have been resolved with room air conditioners, so even in the extreme heat it was perfectly comfortable. The service was good, and our waitress, Storm, was friendly and checked regularly to see if we had everything. And the sushi could have been good, except every roll was doused with so much sauce that the all tasted the same. Even the Tamago nigiri was drenched in sauce. We had the Teriyaki chicken roll, the eel roll, the spicy shrimp roll and the diamond roll. They all tasted pretty much the same, with the sauce covering up the taste of the food.I think we will try it once more, but ask for sauce on the side.
