I was having a difficult time choosing between a pizza and the butternut squash ravioli...the server said ravioli. He was right, it was delicious. We also ordered the Hungarian goulash and their egg salad sandwich. Everything was good, as was the service and the patio seating.

Iolis' Pizzeria

We were hiking in Garland State park and needed lunch. It is Labor Day so a lot of the restaurants were closed. While the gentlemen running the store was attentive and effective, I didn't love the pizza. My husband got the gluten free New York pizza and it was by far the best. The New York pizza was topped with delicious meats. My daughter had a Hawaiian pizza and the rest of us shared a half cheese half pepperoni. The cheese was thick and not great. It reminded me of inexpensive cheese from average pizza restaurants. It was not so good. Not satisfying to me. I would recommend getting the gluten free or thin crust. More toppings the better to have less mozzarella cheese. It was not good mozzarella and then topped with oregano. I was not a fan. My husband's pizza, however, was pretty good.

If you like the thin crust New York style with mozzarella, this isn't the place. I like NY style, too, but Stirrup Cup goes Chicago style. Never ordered the thick crust, but their thin crust is perfect. The sauce and use of provolone, which has the consistency of mozzarella but way more flavor, make it unique. Excellent cheese, pepperoni, combos. Only gripe is that they tacked on a 20% tip for 4 pizza takeout because it was such a large order, they said. Okay. I only tip 10% for takeout, max. Not cool.
