This is a wonderful dining experience at Sent Sovi for special occasions. I would suggest the six course tasting menu along with the wine pairing. The wild mushroom risotto and the lamb chop and the desert was perfect! The risotto had a hint of truffle oil and top with wild mushrooms and The lamb chop with cured tomato and artichoke hearts with the Emerson Cab was the perfect pairing. Finished up with a trio of chi slots desserts for my sweet tooth.

La Mere Michelle has been a fixture on Big Basin way for more than four decades. Itâs understandable why. They serve tasty French food in a relaxed setting for a reasonable price. Iâve been there several times this year, so Iâve tried a number of items from the menu. I enjoyed each meal. Baked fried brie with apricots is a tasty starter thatâs great to share with a friend. The onion soup is a classic, but the chef prepares many other soups that are quite palate-pleasing, although not French. He makes a very good gazpacho and an amazing Anaheim pepper soup. The menu has two kinds of duck breast, one with Morello cherries and another with a sesame honey-soy glaze. Iâve had the cherry duck and enjoyed it immensely. French restaurants sometimes get the reputation of being formal, stuffy places. But thatâs not La Mere Michelle. Its welcoming staff will make you feel right at home.

Some things were excellent (service, menu options, lobster, sea bass, soup, tenderloin) and some things were not (all the salads, bread, scallops, deer and the soufflé.). Good wine options at reasonable prices. We truly appreciated the Chefâs menu choices and creation and plating. The portion sizes were more than adequate (when it came to salads and desserts - smaller portions but higher quality would have made this a 4 star review.) We also felt that the pricing reflected the fact that they knew it was not going to be a five star execution (I would certainly pay a higher price if all 4 courses were 5 Star.)Iâm glad we went and I would suggest that everyone experience Le Papillon for themselves.
