Wine tasting in the Fairplay area is fantastic. A some point you either need to stop for food or power your way through the day. The Pub is your answer. The Pub has, well, pub food. However, it is fresh and tasty. We had the BLTA and Club sandwich along with salad with perfect Blu Cheese dressing. The menu has a variety of options including a great assortment of beers on tap and of course, wine. Service is quick and pleasant and you will be back on the road for more tasting.

My wife used to go to Captains Cabin every Thursday evening and at other times as well. Then the management changed for the worse. Well management has changed again for the better. We had heard good reports so decided to give it a try for lunch. My wife and I had egg and prawn salad which was fine. My wife then had stuffed marrow and I had belly pork. This came with vegetables, boiled potatoes and chips. My pork was delicious. My only complaint was it was a (very) large meal at lunch. If you like me you have not been for a while give it a second chance you wont be disappointed.

This restaurant is in a small village on the Quantock Hills, just outside Taunton. You have to book early for weekend meals. The food is great and the owners are very friendly. It is an old building but modenisised inside. A main course is about £15.00-£2
