I donât think this place gets enough credit for their amazing, hot, buttery steaks and more importantly, the consistency of quality. In LA, people talk about BOA, Mastros and The Palm, but none can hold up compared to Ruthâs Chris.

Dear John's closed after many many years of operation. It reopened as Lucky's for a short time and then closed again. Now - it's reopened with two of LA's "designer chefs" in the kitchen: Josiah Citrin and Hans Rockenwagner. And, from what I understand, they will operate the restaurant for about a year - after which the building and some adjacent property will be redeveloped.Because of this, you need to make a reservation far in advance. The place is hopping. I ordered the 8 oz. filet and my friend ordered the New York strip steak. These steaks were incredibly tender and tasty. However, they were also pricey - and for $48 - $54 what you get is the steak - a la carte. At extra cost we split a Caesar salad - prepared tableside (with an anchovy paste but without egg or mustard in the dressing) and to accompany our steaks we split an order of stuffed mushrooms.Wine is available by the bottle or glass - a glass will run you about $17.Service was very good - professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The place is noisy: besides being crowded there seemed to be no need to add to that by playing loud music. Well, maybe that's just me.I'm glad I went - to experience the place and see what's changed. But I probably won't go back before the place closes for good.

You'll know the moment you arrive that Lawry's The Prime Rib is an extraordinary restaurant. The signature Roasted Prime Ribs of Beef are aged 21 days, rock salt-roasted to perfection then carved to order tableside from shining silver carts. The famous Sp
I love this place and always will. The prime rib. The Yorkshire pudding. The mashed potatoes. The spinning bowl salad. The history. The memories. Iâve been taking my sons here for a decade and seen them grow up eating here. More importantly it was the last restaurants I introduced to my late father before he passed away- and he was one of the all time steak lovers ever born. We were in Singapore and went to lawrys. He was on his was to a chemotherapy session but he enjoyed that meal at lawrys and gave it a big thumbs up. Not an easy man to please. Sometimes a restaurant means something more than just a meal.

Reservations are highly recommended. The pricing may seem high, but the food availability and quality, justifies the tab. The salad bar is second to none. But donât dine on too much from there. This is the place to enjoy the tasty and very, very delicious barbecued beef. I parked a few blocks away.

The place is very dark. Hardly to read the menu but the menu is full of appealing choices. Crab and mushroom, bone marrow, escargot, etc for appetizers. Many different kinds of steaks and seafood for mains. The steak was excellent. It was tender and full of favors. The portion of size dishes were big, big enough for four of us to share. The atmosphere seems very suitable for special occasions but it was very noisy and I hardly talked to the people who sat opposite me. The live music was not bad. Service was good, however, with this price tags, this level of service was expected.Valet parking is available for$12. People tends to wear something with collars but jeans are good too. No shorts and flip flops.

Excellent service, smooth, efficient and as it should be. Ample explanation at the start with recommendations for how to accommodate a party of 3. Perfectly cooked, excellent quality tomahawk steak, with even a few slices home for leftovers. Side of mashed potatoes, silky smooth; creamed spinach w/egg, very nice. Starter of heirloom tomatoes not particularly great...disliked the cheese (name not remembering, but when asked about it, server said it was creamy and like burrata, which it wasn't; had a different texture and flavor, not a fan). Bread basket nice. Good meal. Rather pretentious hotel setting, but that may be of appeal to the majority. Good bet for beef. Didn't even look at the non-beef part of the menu. Yes, of course, pricey, but the prices match the quality and service, not to mention the geography.

We went for a dinner birthday celebration, the food was expensive but i got the best Liver with Onions in years! Melt in the mouth calfs liver served with sauteed onions and strips of bacon. The shoestrings potatoes on the side was just okay,i had better, maybe because it wasn't seasoned. The rib eye steak was a disappointment for my husband,he said it was tasteless( of course he didn't get any side sauce since its supposed to be good for the price on its own). The grilled salmon my friend got was simply cooked ,he said he enjoyed it. His wife ordered the lobster salad,i saw her just picked all the lobster and left most of the salad. The brussel sprouts was good ,we saw a lot of people ordering them. Now, when we checked in we were asked if it was a birthday celebration and we said yes (for two people),we were expecting at least a discounted or free dessert, NONE! We ordered a lime pie which we all shared.I always believe that our waiter should know about celebrations,(they asked us at reception)they are friendly and attentive enough! Thereâs public parking walking distance to the restaurant in Beverly Hills ($2.for 2 hours).
