Find out what Seafood restaurants to try in Ventura. Ventura, officially the City of San Buenaventura, is the county seat of Ventura County, California, United States. European explorers encountered a Chumash village, referred to as Shisholop, in Ventura while traveling along the Pacific coast. The eponymous Mission San Buenaventura was founded nearby in 1782 where it benefitted from the water of the Ventura River. The town grew around the mission compound and incorporated in 1866. The development of nearby oil fields in the 1920s and the age of automobile travel created a major real estate boom during which many designated landmark buildings were constructed. The mission and these buildings are at the center of a downtown that has become a cultural, retail, and residential district and visitor destination.

So we were lookng to use our AXXESS card and found CRAB n SPICE. it is located in a strip mall next to The Habit burger restaurant. I chose dungeness crab, spice was recommended "crab n spice and lemon garlic" Highly recommended. I increased my order with sweet potato fries and a sausage upgrade. NO complaints at all. Food delivered to your table in a steaming plastic bag. Everything in the bag is covered in your seasonings. This is the messiest i have ever gotten eating crab and absolutely the most fun. Tvs all over the restaurant whatever game you are looking for good chance they can get it for you. recommendation the bag has a lot of oil in the bottom, the seasoning clumps up. drain out the oil then you have nice amount of seasoning to eat your crab with. No butter served, No butter needed. I cant wait to go back. They have a happy hour 4-6 Mon thru Thur. I was there on a Friday night 6 pm. it was busy short wait. Excellent

On the water's edge in beautiful Ventura Harbor, The Greek Mediterranean Steak & Seafood offers a family owned and operated "dining experience" rather than just a meal. As close to the Mediterranean you might find in the states, many liken it to stepping
Our party of three decided to dine here for an early dinner on a Saturday. We settled on the Greek salad with chicken and avocado, avgolemono soup, and chicken kabobs with rice and grilled squash, red onion, and broccoli. The wait staff were very nice and took care of our orders in a timely manner. Fresh hot bread and butter were brought out, along with our drinks. The food arrived and was nicely presented. The chicken, though cooked to perfection, lacked flavor (no lemon, parsley, salt, garlic - nothing). I was quite surprised. Everything else, however, was delicious. The traditional Greek salad was large and contained a generous portion of perfect avocado and smooth, tasty feta, some of the best I've tried. The view of the harbor and walkers/dog walkers was a plus. I'll gladly return and try other dishes.

As the title suggest Iâm not sure about this place - the clam chowder was ok but my friends had some comments about their orders.Itâs not really a welcoming atmosphere with some strange seating and an off-hand reception person but maybe it was just a busy Sunday?I think Iâll try somewhere else next time for a fish place and then compare. Maybe this is the best in Ventura - Iâm just not sure!

When family comes out west to visit it's always nice to take them to a classic Californian scene and a establishment with an excellent culinary spread makes it a win win. The Shoals at the Cliffhouse delivers all this and more. We've been going here now for special occasions going on 7 years now and never fails to impress.

Visiting local friends, they took us to their favorite restaurant, Rumfish y Vino. The pluses include wonderful food, gorgeous outdoor dining, excellent service, and we were able to bring their sweet golden retriever. Although there are main courses, we decided to go with small plates and share them tapas style to experience a wide range of flavors. The stars were the conch fritters (have not had these since I was in Belize years ago), a special tritip flat bread, ceviche, and pork tacos. A good wine list allows a range of choices. We choose the Jordan Chardonnay that paired well with our selections. Outstanding evening!

Had eaten at its counterpart in Santa Barbara but our dinner in Ventura ranged from fair to fair, whether the clam appetizer, the calamari, the. pasta, etc. Nothing was bad, nothing memorable. Perhaps the crowd overcame the chef for this visit.

Tasty steakhouse on the Ventura pier. Upscale dining offering prime rib and steaks including a rare and blue, baseball filet, and peppercorn and mushroom sirloins. Ahi salad included a nice portion or rare ahi. Wedge salad dressed with the perfect amount of bacon, red tomatoes, and chunky blue cheese dressing. Booths and tables as well as seating for large parties available. Jacket potatoes were delicious with flaky with salt crusted skin. Perfect for special celebrations.

Totally enjoyed lunch at this dockside restaurant. Have had fish and chips in countless places - my favorites were always somewhere in the U.K., until now. Unusual character at the next table recommended the âshmeeâ. Couldnât figure out what that was, and he was a bit bizarre anyway, so went with the âoriginalâ fish - and loved it. Will go back whenever weâre next in Ventura,Hello David,How lovely to read your thoughts and review! Thank you kindly!I look forward to seeing you in again on your next visit to Ventura!:)Andria

Tasty tacos in a casual restaurant. Shrimp or fish, breaded or broiled with good tortillas and speciality sauces. Perfect for family and friends. Also enjoyed the street tacos. Offers a bar, indoor booth, and outdoor seating. We went back the next day for another round.
