Redwood City is a city on the San Francisco Peninsula in Northern California's Bay Area, approximately 27 miles (43 km) south of San Francisco, and 24 miles (39 km) northwest of San Jose. Redwood City's history spans its earliest inhabitation by the Ohlone people to being a port for lumber and other goods. The county seat of San Mateo County, it is the home of several technology companies such as Box, Informatica, Oracle, Evernote, Wealthfront, and Electronic Arts. At the 2010 census, the city had a population of 76,815. The Port of Redwood City is the only deepwater port on San Francisco Bay south of San Francisco. Redwood City is the location of the San Mateo County Jail, for both women and men. Malibu Grand Prix's previous location is currently the construction site of a new additional Jail and Inmate housing facility. The city has a motto "Climate Best By Government Test" which is a reference to it being one of the top German scouted scientific climates and the city was one of the locations mapped by them during their testing and data collection. The Hetch Hetchy water pipeline runs through Redwood City and supplies a vast majority of the surrounding area with low grain (+/− 3 grains) rated water.

City Pub opened on July 4th, 1991. We are a family restaurant featuring good pub grub and 24 beers as well as 10 wines on tap.
Very comfortable, right in the old downtown of Redwood City. Echoes of old California here. Big bar, mirrors, TVs. We came for the beer and wings. Both really good. A great place to hang out.

Was pretty popular in Thursday night. Had a table reservation. Good list of drinks, Napa wines and all kind of beer. No food!!! Sometimes live music. Good for an after work Party.

I went her last week with a friend who had her dog with her so we sat outside on the patio. The waiter brought a bowl of water for the dog without us asking, which was nice. The food was really tasty, but the chicken and waffles definitely needed some sauce -either syrup served on the side or juicier peaches (it's served with chicken and peaches). Portions are big- I had my leftover chicken and waffles the next day for breakfast (with syrup). I would like to go back with a bigger group to try more of the small plates such as the buffalo cauliflower- looked amazing on the other diner's tables. I felt the prices are reasonable for bay area and how much we ate- $88 for 2 starters, 2 drinks, and 2 entrees. I was too full to try the desserts.

Consistently great Reuben sandwiches. Thick flaky pastrami-probably the best youâll have. Nice selection of beers on tap and huge bottle selection. I like the Belgian beers. Prefer Kwak. They have lots of other crafts too. Some of the more rare options are served in 4 oz pours for about $10.

Not technically a biergarten since it is inside, but a wonderful selection of quality beers, most from draft, and tasty German food accompaniment (mostly sausage, spaetzle, etc.). The business is growing larger all the time. In the front (you enter from the back) there is probably the largest selection of packaged German food in the area, from candies and cookies to mixes for most German dishes. Fun as well as tasty.

Martins West is both a pub and a restaurant; serving Redwood City since 2009. An homage to seasonal gastropub cuisine, we are passionate about giving our guests the best possible experience and best local ingredients that we can find. We take pride in bei
Martins West is primarily a cozy, friendly, diverse, and lively bar--you don't go there for food, primarily. Or you shouldn't. Being shut out from several over-subscribed places close by (Quinta Sol, Vesta, LV Mar, all with long waits), we found refuge at Martins West. We've eaten here before and pretty much knew what we were getting into. But the bartender had recommended the new salmon dish - salmon tartine, and it was very good (the bread underneath was soggy, however). The items on the charcuterie plate seemed a little over the hill, but the "crusted bread" was way past its prime and inedible. Scotch eggs were overcooked and old. The "pickles" dish was extremely disappointing - old canned jalapenos, one pickle. The beer offerings are great, wine list is good, and the cocktails are tasty and popular. Beware of the food menu.

We stopped by Sunday morning after a run in Huddart County Park. The parking lot in the shopping plaza was packed with pet owners taking their pets to be groomed at a nearby pet store. We were very fortunate to find a spot after circling for a few minutes. When we entered Redwood Grill, we liked the vibrant atmosphere and contemporary decor. There was a fairly large group gathered having brunch and lively chatter and laughter filled the room. We sat close to the bar and our server approached almost immediately. She was pleasant, friendly, and professional. The menu was simple and refreshing. Lavazza coffee was good. I enjoyed my well-seasoned country chicken and yummy Belgian waffle with tasty syrup. My boyfriend practically inhaled the Redwood scramble! We would definitely return to try other dishes.

It's a locals only hangout deep in the hills of Redwood City. You'll need GPS to get you there. The Grand Canyon Burger is incredible -- bring an appetite! It's huge! We discovered Canyon Inn over 30 years ago --- our recent trip there proved it is as good as it was 30 years ago! It's total casual with lots of memorabilia on the walls. Order then grab a table.

Needed a place for a quick lunch for 12 and was very pleased. Our orders were taken almost immediately. It was a nice selection of burgers and the fries were tasty. Very comfortable table with large bar stools for seating. Other people can in after us but did not feel crowded. Interesting pictures for décor and some local team memorabilia. Parking was convenient.

We got there a few minutes before noon. They didnât open until 12:00. There are a few parties before us. We ordered Rueben sandwich, cheese steak sandwich, draft beer pastrami salad and grill cheeses sandwich. Everything came out good as expected. This week is Silicon Valley beer week. There are a few specials on sale.
