Stopped by here at Happy Hour, not by pre-arrangement, just by luck. Thoroughly enjoyed a blended Margarita accompanied by a range of very affordable nibbles. Most enjoyable. Felt welcome and not rushed. Good service. Staff seemed to anticipate requirements.

Hadn't been here in a while & unfortunately the reason we eat elsewhere is still valid.. Employees in back talking while food on floor & tables. The make good food & are the closest to home but if the front of the restaurant is so filthy.. I can only imagine what the kitchen is like. Place was great when the owners actually spent time here.

LA Fogata Mexican Restaurant

Reviewed By Lee W

After recently moving to Hemet and finding so many Mexican Restaurants I have been trying different ones every couple of weeks. La Fogata is probably my 10th and I compare each one to my favorite found so far.I like a Taco/Chili Relleno combination which the do have but only on the dinner menu. Pro's:• Great Chili Relleno• Refried beans are good but I have had better• Lots of seating Cons:• Lunch special not available on Saturday• Chips are horrible.• Tacos would be great but the uses same corn tortilla. To thick and had burnt aftertaste.• Salad with dinner was a joke. All Lettuce. The amount of red cabbage they had on the salad would fit in a tablespoon and the amount of shredded carrots could fit in a teaspoon. Why bother? • Overpriced• They had a pitcher of what looked like ice tea sitting on a cart close to my table. One fly was having a great time crawling around the rim and inside. Why not just cover it?In summary it was a disappointing experience. When I ask the waiter if the chips were burnt as they tasted that way his only response is that the supplier brought them different corn tortillas - but the waiter did not offer to replace them. The chips and taco shell were so thick and 'tough' that it sounded like I was chewing on an ice cube. The contents of the taco were actually good but the shell ruined the flavor. The waiter again came by to his credit and asked how everything was and I told him this was the worst taco I have ever eaten. He mumbled a few words and left. Seems like the manager would at least come by and speak with me. I guess it was "out of site out of mind." I wound up paying about $4 more than my go to Mexican restaurant so it will be highly doubtful that I will ever return. I think from now on I will just stick with the best!

El Patron Mexican Grill and Entertainment

Visited to celebrate my daughter’s completion of course work for her Education Masters. I had the Sea of El Patron: grilled halibut, grilled shrimp, grilled vegetables, and shrimp enchilada with rice. Each was perfectly tasty. My daughter ordered the Pizzadilla with chicken, cheese, beans, guacamole, sour cream, and pico de gallo. She said it was delicious. We shared the chocolate cake ala mode...its richness was a delight. Our server was superb; she got our orders correct & checked with us just the right amount of times. The dining area was clean and our booth seating was very comfortable. We’ll be back!

The Breakfast House - Los Tejabanes

The place was not great. Food never rose beyond average. Place was almost empty at 12:40 PM, We arrived around 12:40 PM. First time, and wanting to try their food. Place was 10% full, and it felt somewhat abandoned to its own faith. Waitress was nice and professional, and the following items were ordered:Waffle Breakfast, $5.99. One egg, half waffle, and bacon. Decent for our lovely senior, but lo and behold! The bacon besides being over cooked, had also more salt than what I considered possible. 3 Stars.2 Albóndiga Soups, at $7.99 each. Consisted of a very light broth, a little oily, with no special taste, besides being edible. Potatoes previously frozen turned into mush, truly dislikable. Two slices of tomato floating with no apparent plan. 3 Meatballs Mexican style with average flavor. Not a memorable dish, and one best not to repeat. 3 Stars. One Beef Tamale, $3.49. Soft, Bulky, stuffed with shredded beef, not particularly good, nice sauce, and cold in the center. Edible. 3 Stars.Chips were nice. Salsa very nice! Service on the money. 10% discount on Yelp for first time visit.

El Ranchito Taco Shop

Absolutely, my favorite taqueria in Hemet. I’ve tried a number of the taco joints along Florida Ave, but I keep coming back to El Ranchito. They offer a nice selection of tacos as well as other traditional Mexican dishes. For me, I keep coming back for the tacos. Today we enjoyed a huge fish taco along with a carnitas taco and a cabezo taco. All were delicious. A very generously filled taco costs around $2.50. Great salsa bar. Their spicy carrots bring on the heat. Lots of taco choices out there, but when I come to town, El Ranchito is always on my list for lunch at least once or twice.

Provecho Grill

Fresh out of eating at Provecho Grill, and certainly to antagonize the glowing reviews this eatery has, I am here to tell right here and now, that the well regarded Provecho Grill is far from a 5 Star place to eat, or for that matter, even a 4 Star. I can understand somewhat why some would like to build the reputation of this rather average place, to heights it does not deserve where their food is concerned. Service, on the other hand, is very good. Food is what brought us here for our second time, our first back in 2015?Back then it was not very good, but we figure with almost 500 reviews, most filled with praise, perhaps a second visit was in order. Wish we had not, but too late, Sancho!2 item combo, $11.99. Cheese enchilada and home made tamale, with rice/beans. Member of the family ate it voraciously, but then again, she attacks food in general with epic gusto. She mentioned it was average at best. 3 Stars.3 item combo, $13.99. Chili Relleno, 4 Stars. Tamale, with shredded beef that tasted awful, 1 Star. Chicken Taco, 3.5 Stars.Provecho Burger, $13.75. One dollar burgers taste better than this mediocre version, and the tater potatoes left untouched. You want a good burger? Red Robin rans circles ⭕️ around this expensive fiasco. 1 Star. Yes, I know, who orders burgers at a Mexican place? Apparently the youngest of the four of us do.Campechana, $16.99. A special from the Chef ‍, filled with sweet tomato juice, random pieces of cut shrimp, octopus ?, fish, cucumber, sliced tomato, served with distastefully inflated chips, and a burnt lemon. Only suckers like me need to apply, no skills but expensive enough to cause serious regrets. 1 Star.Mariachi, $16.99. Carne Asada cut very small, 2 Bacon Wrapped Shrimp, dried out and salty bacon, replaced the Mole Chicken Enchilada for the distasteful tamale mentioned above. Beans a sliver, and not too good. Apparently Saturday night prove to taxiing for the mediocre cook (s) in the back. Guacamole, sour cream average. 2 Stars. The place was packed, which initially looked like a good sign, but the end result tells a whole different picture. This place overcharges, undercooks, and somehow the community of generous reviewers are madly in love with the food. Go figure. Maybe is a Sun City thing. 2.5 Stars.
