Very nice, friendly neighborhood spot for Japanese dining. The fish entrees are fresh. They offer a good mixtures of tasty sushi rolls. A choice entree is the Kalbi grilled beef. For beverages, both cold and hot sake are offered in addition to some wine and beer. Prices were reasonable. Service was friendly and helpful, They also offer takeout food.

Hip, friendly and tasty authentic ramen. Great broth, noodles and many choices. Also wide selection of other delicious classic Japanese small and large plates
I went to Kenta Ramen looking to satisfy my Ramen craving. Along the way, I found some excellent starters before devouring my Ramen.Calamari Legs, Rainbow Roll and Spicy Tuna Roll were excellent. I loved the fact that a Ramen house would also serve various appetizers & sushi. Also, my Ramen was excellent. I had the Tonkatsu Ramen & I was not disappointed. The service was really good. The waitresses were friendly, courteous, & attentive. Dishes were removed as soon as we were done, water & tea was refilled promptly. The restaurant was packed, but the service was spot on.I think Kenta Ramen will be a regular stop for me from now on. Can't wait to go back.
I must have eaten here more than 10 times during my stay in San mateo. The staff is good and the beer is good too. Can't go wrong with any of their sushi, but i do prefer the tiger roll.

An extensive menu and not overly expensive as Japanese food goes around here. Service was fine. We could actually sit and talk in this little restaurant in the Marina Shopping Center. Ample parking at dinner time, but often crowded at lunch or other times. Food was pretty good.
Stopped by for lunch with a business colleague after a meeting nearby.Restaurant attached to hotel, so not immediately obvious when passing. Promptly shown to table, drinks order taken promptly, but then a delay before food order taken. Reasonable selection of choices, I was tempted by Bento box options ( which colleague selected), but went instead for the hand sushi rolls. Meals arrived separately, so mark down for service. Well presented, and tasty.Overall, OK but not special.

Discovered by my colleagues, we returned twice to this newly opened Japanese restaurant in the last one month. Freshly made sushi rolls with unique flavors not usually found in the area. Food presentation is sophisticated and visually pleasing. Price is moderate and reasonable. I am pretty sure we will go back again very soon.

Top of line sushi located in downtown San Mateo. Sitting at counter is best, where you can talk directly with Sam and see daily specials posted on the wall. Always very busy, so reservations are recommended. Always keep track of your orders, if you make multiple orders throughout your dining; staff does not give detailed bills. Environment is very basic, and a bit noisy. Sam's sushi has been always consistently excellent.

OK so this is fusion cuisine. Not Japanese or Korean. There's some usual fish to try. I went for the Kanpachi yellowtail - noted for its sweet flavour and firm texture. Mine was delicious and tender. Came with cauliflower coord with turmeric also delicious as were my fries.Thank you for your review we appreciate it.
