My friend and I are pleased to have discovered Andy's. Our chicken dish featured fresh chinese broccoli in a nice sauce. Sizzling rice seafood soup was a tasty treat. Both recommended. Prices very reasonable and include a pot of jasmine tea! Although decor isn't great, the menu is very extensive and you're likely to enjoy whatever you select.
We were here for dim sum on a Thursday afternoon. It was crowded with mostly native speakers...a good sign . If you ever want to know if a Chinese restaurant is good, you can instantly get a handle on it by looking at their clientele. No carts... you order by checking off a menu. Food is good, service is quick. A little pricey.

We visited for dinner and left rather disappointed. First, the food was actually very good even though prices were rather high. As with all Asian eateries we don't expect quality service but we do expect some courtesy and professionalism. The wait staff (a lady and a young man) did not make us feel welcomed at all. I wonder if it has to do with us speaking to them in Chinese because the other customers who could only converse with them in English were treated very politely. Maybe that's why the place is deserted on a Friday night at dinner time. Advise to all - don't let on that you can speak Mandarin or Cantonese and you should have a rather nice experience

The restaurant gets a plus for quick delivery, the food was hot but I felt it was very bland and Americanized. Shrimp fried rice was bland, tofu had minimal seasoning and not good. Peking duck was the only good item that seemed traditional. Stick to the basics. Also restaurant didn't diver the soy sauce or hot sauce I ordered.

Grand Palace is a dim sum and seafood restaurant located in the heart of downtown South San Francisco. We are conveniently located in proximity to SFO, and Caltrain stations.
My friend and I stopped in for a Dim Sum lunch. Restaurant was not crowed when we arrived and we were seated quickly. Largest dim sum selection I have every seen. No steam cart - one just orders off a menu. One peeve.... as the only non-Asian guests in the restaurant, service was not outstanding. Other Asian guests arriving much later than us were served more quickly and with a smile. Food was quite good - and we ordered 8 different small plates. Price was $44 w/o tip.

Great dim sum near SFO
Dim sum was delicious and not too salty overall. Shrimp dumplings, pan fried chives and shrimp, pineapple and custard buns, baked BBQ pork buns, shrimp rice rolls were all good. Service was decent. It got busy shorty after it opened at 10:00 am on Saturday. Parking could be tight even it had a parking lot.
