We have been here several times. Each time we have had a great meal and my husband likes the selection of beers. The employees are very friendly and it is just a nice casual place to grab a great meal and a beer or two, or just ice tea (like I get).

I went today for lunch and this was my first time to Marie Callender's. I have to be very watchful of the restaurant I choose as I am a strict vegetarian. Well Marie's not only offers a variety of veggie options but also they are healthy choices of soups and salads. The ambience and decor showcase a heritage of American traditional dining. The stewardesses served and took care of guests with awesome ease and smile. Prices are very affordable, nice crowd, superb cleanliness and look and feel were so relaxing. fresh food, attractive presentation and welcoming attitude of the staff...all made my experience enjoyable.Kudos to the management as unless you have efficient restaurant manager, staff cannot be so pleasant. Well, you did win compliments from a very choosy customer and also encourage me to step into another Marie Callender's some day soon.

My friend took me here for lunch and told me about his memories of eat here with his family growing up. I enjoyed both the time with my friend and the food. And I am thinking we all should have pleasant memories of food with family.

Tonight we went to Cali Comfort during Happy Hour to enjoy a dinner. Socorro our server was so nice as she took our order for 2 Pacifico beers at only $3.00. We ordered a Brisket Dinner plate which had delicious and tender BBQ Brisket, with some BBQ Beans, Jalapeno Corn Bread Muffin, Crispy Seasoned French Fries, and some wonderful Jalapeno BBQ Sauce. Tiffany the Food Runner also brought out our other orders which included a Pulled Pork Taco, because it was Taco Tuesday Night, and some Crispy Chicken Wings with Celery and Carrots, which were also very good. But the Big Star of the night was the homemade Peach Cobbler with Ice Cream. There are no words I can say to explain to you how tasty and the unbelievable flavors this dessert has. You have to come in to Cali Comfort just for this dessert ! Happy Hour was again a Pleasure !

I have been eating at Marieta's in La Mesa once a week for many years now. Their food is exceptional and their prices are very reasonable. It's a great place to meet friends for dinner or for a special occasion. They can also accommodate large parties in a private room. They have great margaritas and have a full bar.

I have always liked this place in the past but my husband had never been here before. We started with the fried artichokes. Oh my gosh they are good! I ordered a small pizza and my husband ordered a chicken, spicy peanut noodle dish. He got a tomato and mozzarella salad and I the garden salad. His was good but mine was mostly iceberg, turned brown lettuce with a lot of croutons. When our entrees arrived I was excited. Much to my great dismay, my pizza was horrible. Seriously. Canned tomatoes plopped on top with ample cheese but the pizza was not good. It had no flavor other than canned tomato sauce. My husband and I were surprised and thought that even a Pizza Hut pizza would have been better. His meal was delicious and very tasty. Wish I had gone with that:( We both agreed however that this restaurant is overpriced for what you get and we have decided not to go back again.

We have eaten at Hooley's at Grossmont Center in La Mesa several times and will continue to go back. While their menu is not strictly what you would see in Ireland, the offerings are hearty and delicious. The last couple of times we have eaten dinner there I've had the corned beef and cabbage dinner which is excellent. The sliders also look quite good. One person in our group got the chicken sliders and really enjoyed them. We've been told by acquaintances that the salmon sliders are really excellent. My wife liked the shepherd's pie she ordered . Generally all the dinner menu items are served in portions too large to eat in one sitting so they have plenty of containers available to take home leftovers. The only menu item that somewhat disappointed me was the Irish stew they offer which is made with beef, unlike the lamb stew they serve in restaurants in Ireland.

Ok, a large black thing in my mashed potatoes. Wrong dish served to my date. Waited a long time then everything came at once - salad, soup and entree. Tasteless when corrected. Also charged extra for all the sides. A $60 meal to throw away

I hadn't eaten here in many years because the last time I ate there it tasted very commercial-ly, get-your-meals-out-fast. I had a hard time understanding what people liked about it. I am happy to say that the food tastes much better now!
