This place is off the tourist main line, so you just see locals here. It's a small comfortable place with very friendly staff. There is a small parking lot behind the restaurant, which is helpful because there is very little parking on the street in front of the restaurant. The sushi is excellent. I particularly liked a mushroom dish that I had never had before. The sashimi, the sushi rolls and the associated goodies were all first rate. That said, they're not giving it away. Dinner for 6 was about $600.

Firstly, the decor has some lovely touches of Japan. We were greeted warmly and seated, drink orders and service was brisk. Very tasty food. I think Robata refers to a type of grill or method of grilling. We had maki or sushi rolls, grilled chicken wings, grilled salmon belly and grilled corn. The corn was sweet, the salmon was fresh and yet had smokey flavor. Chicken wings were done just right and the maki were great! We couldn't finish and everything tasted just as good if not better the next day!

What a surprise to know about this sushi restaurant in Mill Valley. I am most impressed with the quality and huge selection of sushi, sashimi, rolls and traditional meals on the menu. Our party of four shared a variety of the menu faire. All garnering rave reviews for taste and presentation. The other aspect of dining at this restaurant was that it was a far cry from my childhood in New York City in the 1950's where back then sushi was unheard of and even up to day, many Japanese restaurants I frequent don't cater to many children. Here at Samurai, it is like a child's mandatory introduction in the appreciation of sushi. definitely a family restaurant where children of all ages are catered to.The only drawback is the deafening volume of nice from the chatter of children and adults in this comfortably intimate sized restaurant.Definitely a word of mouth recommended place As their website is non informative and the restaurant does not even have business cards. On a Wednesday evening this place was non stop filled with a majority of family diners with children.

This restaurant is phenomenal! Many call it "modern Chinese food" because the veggies are organic farm to table, the meats and fish sustainably raised and the recipes reflect a modern palate. Kale dumplings, brussels sprout pot stickers, brown organic rice. It's tasty and the prices reflect its upscale uniqueness.

Our hopes were high for what is advertised as Asian Street food. It was just ok. The peanut sauce was tolerable and the rice brown was flavorless. No sauce options except siracha. Sitting outside was nice and service was good.

We were told that because Mill Valley is filled with people that have a lot of money, finding really good food was going to be easy. We were craving Thai and decided to come to this place. The server was very friendly. They were able to make gluten free dishes which is a huge plus. We had the chicken satay. It was good. The peanut sauce was very delicious as I could taste the coconut milk in it. (I love that). We also had pad siew. They piled on the noodles, so as far as value, that was a plus. I couldn't really taste the wok hay in the noodles which was a disappointment. We had a chicken in garlic chili paste sauce which was just OK. This place didn't really satisfy our Thai craving. Maybe other dishes would have tasted better? Maybe we just had an off night. I would try it again to see if our experience would be better. I have to stress that it is a very friendly and courteous place and would come back just for that.

Be prepared to sit close to other diners. This is one and only Thai restaurants in the neighborhood- hence the popularity. The restaurant is fine. As my son said, â it is nothing to write home about.âThat might be a bit strong-menu has many choices ...is it me or the portions small?

Clean, comfortable eatery serving quality food in a comfortable surrounding. Mexico-style "poke"beautifully prepared with delicate chips and iceberg, lettuce slices, $14.00. Spicy tuna sushi, fresh, tasty, $10.00. Sticky ribs, warm, juicy and slowly cooked, $14,00 for 5 ribs. The server, Ashanti, was intelligent, knowledgeable and quick to our requests. She represented herself and her employer with style, grace and a sense of humor. If you like seafood, add this place to your list.

Read about the tiny location and warned about the potential wait, so we arrived an hour before closing in hopes of missing the crowds. It was still busy and we waited, but the staff was wonderfully accommodating. They brought drink orders to the waiting area, and distributed menus so we could preorder. When we were seated, our dishes arrived promptly. The food was good, with the Bao trio being the best of what we ordered. Spicy heat here is not nearly as high as other Burmese restaurants like Burma Superstar so worry not about their spice warning. Can't say enough about how friendly the entire staff was.
