Went with some locals who said it was good and affordable. Like many authentic dim sum places it is super loud. If you are native and don’t speak Chinese, be prepared for an adventure. The cart ladies are pushy (pun intended) and aggressively try to convince you that you want what is on their cart, even if you have a lot on your table already. Getting a glass of water takes an act of Congress and you know how well they are doing these days. If you ask what a particular food item is, be prepared for an answer that doesn’t make a lot of sense. They have a picture menu on the table that you can point to things on which is a good safety net. It was a surprisingly good price for a decent amount of food. Be aware, during a busy lunch rush, it can look like a hurricane came through in the bathrooms.

Duck House is a traditional Chinese Restaurant with a lot of creation and modern touch in it. Quality and presentation are our main focus. We started our business in 2003. Our Traditional Peking Duck is our Signature dish. Besides, we have different kind

Seven food and wine friends gathered in a private room on an impromptu visit to this fav San Gabriel Valley spot. We were not disappointed. We started with a round of appetizers including 2 very savory courses: cold jelly fish salad and cold flavored pork slices that tasted rich and savory. Moved right into the Peking Duck--hoisin, shredded scallions, very sweet duck meat, and crisped duck skin -- wrapped and rolled in paper thin pancakes -- so goodAt least 7 or 8 other courses followed including truffle live lobster, crispy whole rock cod served with sweet and sour sauce (my fav besides the duck) and a very fine and savory fried rice. Service was excellent--helpful and attentive without being intrusive. Oh yes we brought and opened 7 or 8 bottles of fine wine that complemented our food, including rose champagne, 2 high end Chardonnays plus a Chassagne-Montrachet, several reds--pinot noirs and syrahs, and for dessert/palate cleanser a half bottle of 1985 German Eiswein. All in twas an excellent dining experience.

I was surprised to find this restaurant in the neighborhood. I stay in a local hotel for business and was dropping off dry cleaning next door, so decided to try it. I've been back several times. The restaurant itself is quite small with regular tables and a sushi bar. I go for the sushi bar and order my usual - spicy tuna, salmon, yellowtail and egg. All very fresh and very good, every time. The sushi chef speaks limited English but is excellent at preparation and does it very quickly. However, last time, decided to try the sweet shrimp but due to miscommunication, for which I take responsibility, ended up with the sweet shrimp and fried shrimp head. Decided to try it and definitely not my thing but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be great for others. If you do have a fair amount of food, the bill can easily add up to about $35+. However, the product is fresh and well prepared, so worth the cost. Of course, the best sushi I ever had was at 6 am in Tokyo after checking out the fish auction, but this is on the other side of the pacific in a small restaurant off of hwy 60.

Theres plenty of HK style breakfast in the SGV, but this place stands out in the least expected area. Its not like the places where you can sit and catch up with your friends. You share tables with other strangers and are whisked out when you're done eating.Theres plenty of options for brekast. They have a variety of congee and noodles to choose from. The congee is probably the best I've ever had and that might also include Asia. The raw beef congee as well as the lettuce and fish congee is really good. The pineapple bun with butter is a must try. For lunch and dinner, its pretty much the same as other places.

I finally went here based on my bro-in-law's recommendation. Huge and varied menu based on the Asian country of origin. Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese and then it breaks down into wok noodles, rice dishes, fried rice, etc. I got the hainam chicken rice dish for my mom who needed something not so spicy and it was perfect. Steamed chicken over a special rice. The pho is pretty good as well as the pad thai. The place does a brisk takeout business but the cooks are fast. I like the fact that they asked me which sauces I want. Got the usual chili paste as well as a spicy/sour clear sauce with slices of green chilis swimming around and hoisin. Would definitely order from them again! Perfect choice for the group that can't decide on Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai or Japanese food.

Excellent choice for Dim Sum in the San Gabriel Valley. It's an orderly affair (as you order from a menu) rather than by carts passing by. But it still has a very authentic feel. The dim sum is excellent, with a good variety.

This restaurant is a little hard to find but it’s worth the trouble locating it with Google Maps as the Chinese cuisines served here are uncompromisingly authentic ie not westernized - very much like those corner eateries in Asia. The Chinese cuisines served seem to be a mixture of Cantonese and Shanghainese and really delicious. Moreover the portions were really generous. The stir fries dishes and the fried rice were full of ‘wok hei’ (鑊氣). We were pleasantly delighted with the xiao long bao (小籠包) which could give Din Tai Fung a run for their money. We were fortunate to get here before 6 pm as it got really crowded after that. It’s a best kept secret among the residences here in Monterey Park.

From coast to coast, the dim sum are very similar. I always wish restaurants would be more creative. I was very pleased with the dim sum here. There are so many different selections in addition to the traditional ones. Everything was delicious. The service was great. The waiter always checking my teapot. Empty dishes were removed promptly. This is one of the best dim sum restaurant I have ever been to. I wished I had a bigger stomach so I can try more things. Thumbs up!
