Local Chinese restaurant for over 30 years on Union Avenue, Bakersfield. Great food and better Mai Tai's!!!
This is our go to restaurant for a delicious meal. It is family run and the service is very personal. We love both the food and service. The neighborhood is a little sketchy, but don't let that get in the way of a lovely meal.

Great spring rolls, fried egg rolls, the Vietnamese omelet these items are great for an appetizer. Their lunch specials are a great value meal. I have eaten many different pho's from this place, I have loved them all. Just depends what meat item you are in the mood for. The service is always very very good.

stopped here for lunch on a Tuesday headed to Airport. Great lunch spot and the food was really good. Everything is cooked to order, so you can't get in and out of here in a hurry, but worth the wait. had a interesting ginger soup that was unlike anything I've had before and the Yellow Curry was exceptional. In a strip mall type shopping center near the edge of town.. If in the area again, i will go back

We chose this restaurant based on Tripadvisor reviews. Not one of them gave the reviews it deserved. We have eaten sushi in many cities across the states - some good, some not. But this place is hands down the best. The edamame tasted as if they were just picked. They wee served "al dente", hot, and salted just right. The miso soup was perfect. We had a Rainbow Roll, California Roll, Tuna and Avocado Roll (the tuna was prepared 'tartare'), and something new for us. A Fire and Love roll. It was served in tin foil, on a plate with flames. OMG - the most delish! You must try this.

The place was one of the best in town forever Then it really went downhill. Few loyal customers hung on, through the rough times. We're talking 2 or 3 tables on a Saturday night. The place was a dump and no one cared. Take out and delivery paid the bills. Finally, they remodeled. The place looks nice. Food is good, plates are big enough to share or to have lunch the next day. Service has improved, and with the exception of the sometimes sour attitude of the owner, it is an overall very good meal

So you are in the mood for some Thai food in Bakersfield! This city has a good selection of Thai Restaurants. I rate Singha Thai in the middle of the pack. Have yet to have a bad tasting entree. Unfortunately, I have not had an amazing entree either. Even my go to entree which is Pad Thai tastes only A-Ok at Singha. Probably my favorite item here is their Sticky Rice with Mango. If it is available, you better order it!! Tastes super yummy!Although, I only rate them 3 stars...you should try them for yourself and decide. In the meantime, it will be awhile before I return to give an update.

Back in the 70's and 80's the Chinese food on 18th street and nearby was exquisite. Names like Bill Lees, Rice Bowl and Far East Cafe would dominate the discussion. There was always a wait when you went at dinner time and the places were hopping. Well the years have not been good to these establishments. Partially due to the decline of the Bakersfield Downtown area and partially to the generational shift in the management. Don't get me wrong, the food is still good, but the prices have outrun the value that once was. Twenty bucks per person for a family style meal of the generic fried rice, chow mien, ribs, shrimp, almond chicken and soup is a little stiff. I do have a hack for you that will help. When ordering the family style (No. 1,2,3,or 4) order one less than the total number in your party. Unless you wanted to take a ton of food home. Portions are big and you can save money this way. Ribs were a little dry and shrimp was more breading than shrimp. All in all not bad for the declining chinese food options in Bakersfield. Go and enjoy!

Excellent Thai cuisine, excellent staff and service! There were three of us and we each ordered something different and shared, everything was very good. Can't go wrong here.

This restaurant just opened a week ago and is getting rave reviews, including my own. There are so few asian restaurants in Bakersfield and this one is not only a welcomed addition but the food is the best I have eaten outside of Thailand. They are introd
Nice roomy restaurant with exotic Thai decor. We ordered Pad Thai with chicken, Pad See-Ew with beef and garlic spaghetti with shrimp. The order came out in just a few minutes and it was all good. Service was excellent and we were really taken care of. Worth a trip to downtown Bakersfield. Street parking only.

SO happily surprised to find Jin Sushi. Been here for lunch on numerous occasions. Fish is always very fresh and Kong is a superb chef with an artistic flare. One of the few places that offers fresh wasabi...YES!They also have a nice list of sakés, including ginjo and daiginjo.Note: I love my sushi and sashimi...even got up at 4:00am to go to Tsukuji fish market auction in Tokyo. Afterwards, had sushi there for breakfast...Jin's in downtown Bakersfield ranks up there among my top 5 favorite sushi places worldwide. :-) Who would have guessed...in the desert?! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
